Very good report but if I understood well you said that cropping or use a "true" 50mm produce different compression and prospective which is not true! Compression has nothing to do with focal length. If from the same point of view you take a picture with a "true" 50mm and one with the 28 cropped at 50mm equivalent the compression will be exactly the same the only difference if you use the same aperture will be in DOF (and of course in resolution) . Compression and prospective depends only from the distance between the camera and the subject /background using different focal length only change the angle of view.

The images are so pleasing to look at! Maybe one day, but for now, I'm appreciating the camera from afar

Good presentation. Well worth the watch. Q is my favourite. Bought n sold Q2 twice and I’m wondering if I ought to try the Q3. You have helped me along on that.

Beautiful thanks for this! Is the photos at 6:47 and 7:30 SOOC? What in-cam color profile and WB did you use?

Love your work Sam, I’ve been a subscriber for a long time. Please can you make the pictures a bit larger on the screen? I noticed it on the last couple of vids and I’m finding quite hard to enjoy them from a phone screen, which I don’t remember previously. 🤘🏼

Ever had problems with the aperture ring not showing the exposure on the viewfinder simultaneously? Like you change it and nothing happens on the viewfinder you can only see the results once you see the pictures…🙃

was grading the q3 files frustrating without profiles?

Great Q. I found these to edit much easier than the q2 for some reason. Q2 files are tough for me but q3 files are much easier

I hope in leica Q4 they put at least for a compact camera with a built in lens a zoom one let’s say between 24 to 55 something like this even if they were like 3 or 4 stops to it is just with variable focal length like 24,35,50 and/or 55mm. That would much better with this price.

You get exactly the same “lens compression” as you would with actual lenses of these focal lengths - you “only” lose some bokeh and resolution - the only thing that matters is the distance from the camera to the subject, if you have the resolution to crop, a 20mm can give you the same “lens compression” as a 50 or 85mm. kzbin.info/www/bejne/lYW3iYxniMpjm8ksi=9hqsv0i5VNVYTnjI

I don’t really know what is wrong with people who like stucked screen, like don’t you take photos from different angles and want to see what do you capture, instead of laying on the road or I don’t know what 🤦🏻♂️anyway you can keep it as it is in its place because who really needs it will you use it not you.
