Maybe make bread pudding out of the rest of the cake? Or fry slices in butter and serve like pancakes. Just a thought!

Actress Audrey Meadows who played Alice Kramden on The Honeymooners said that folks used to send her aprons (and curtains!) all the time! She had quite a nostalgic collection! The first apron with the heart pockets reminds me of the ones I've seen on I Love Lucy! ❤️

I just love old aprons too! I think it’s so awesome how you embrace being “old fashioned.” You know who you are, what you like, and you’re not afraid to show it! I think that’s why you’re so loved, you are a breath of fresh air, amid the nipped and tucked society of today! Thank God for you and Ron, don’t ever change!❤❤❤

The wig was a great purchase. Ron looks quite polished now. Justine, the apron collection is interesting. My family and I are huge thrifters. Most of our home is furnished with used things and we get so many compliments on the cool and interesting stuff we have. Most of our clothes, too, were previously owned. I draw the line at undergarments, socks, and swimsuits - some things just have to be brand new.

Keep going! I love Ron's history facts. And Justine, 😅I love that you go thrifting. It's one of my favorite things to do and I do save probably hundreds of dollars per year except for one thing. I love thrifting so much that I probably do that more than I should. The other perk to thrifting is I am an original because what I buy is Not in the stores. So I always get comments and compliments from my purses to my tops, skirts necklaces and bracelets. etc. Go Justine! Y'all are so much fun!

I’m glad that Ron is much better. Nice wig on Ron. I’m glad that you had fun in the ballroom. Nice photo. So the cakes were not that fluffy and without too many ingredients. Very interesting the dates in history like the weather service being established, Quincy Adams was elected as the 6th President, and know about John Deere. Love your apron collection, Justine. Adorable Mish Mish. ❤️🐱

Oh yes, my mother used to make a Poor Man's cake for Christmas and she would add dried fruit to the batter and make it into a delicious fruit cake. I've yet to taste any as good as what she made and I have the recipe she made. She got the recipe from her mother (ancestors fought in the American Revolution.) But there were no caraway seeds in the recipe..... Justine - keep your FB private otherwise you'll get mail - it's awful..... You get hacked easy Those aprons were from before WWII and after. i remember my aunts and grandmothers wearing them.....They look in good shape for that old or they could be replication of the old ones.

I remember back when I was way little (about 3 or so around 1959) my maternal grandmother (who we kids called "Nana") wearing an apron similar to the first Justine showed us. Hers was in paisley. I remember the swirly shapes. Mom wore those 1950's aprons, too, and the pockets came in handy. Apologies to Ron - I love any cakes or breads with caraway seeds! Every St. Patrick's day, I make Irish soda bread with white raisins and caraway seeds. So good still warm from the oven with a pat of butter melting on a slice. Loved seeing the videos and pictures of the Kings Ball. Glad you all had a good time!

You looked lovely in your beautiful red dress Justine and Ron looked dashing in his suit. Did your friend find a date for the ball? I was busy looking at your lovely aprons that I didn’t notice the cake drop till you mentioned it. I had to rewind the video to watch for it. It was a good laugh. My father made a similar thing, just rolled into balls and then all baked together. Same dough, butter forward, little sugar and a couple of errant raisins. I actually prefer the texture to most modern "fluffy" cake. I know, I'm weird. I think its still popular in many parts of the world and immigrant communities.
