The miniature house kits are a blast, but DON'T expect them to be quick. They are extremely fiddly. However, you could definitely get multiple videos out of it. I've just watched the needle felting bit, and... Oh. No. That foam block? You should rest the thing you're felting on it and poke down into it (after removing all the needles), NOT your hand. Ow.

Edit about the felting kit: I actually really love felting, in the future you should felt until you can’t see the lines of the wool anymore if that makes sense, it should all be dense so you can’t pull it apart. But he still turned out really cute, especially for your first attempt at felting I’d love to see a part two to this, Amigurumi would be a fun one to try if you got a small kit, some can take less time than the bear. @lampekartoffel2 жыл бұрын
Well... The water will only damage the extension cord if it gets into the electrical part and most likely, nothing dangerous will happen, it might even be salvageable depending on the quality of the cord, how quick she acts on drying it off and how much water gets in/how sensitive the drenched parts are And the toaster isn't on/in use, so there's really nothing unsafe about putting the felt creation there for a quick shot

I know people always say this, but my first needle felted project looked like a pink and green pile of poop, so you should be so proud of this being your first project. It's freaking amazing. Just one tip, though: the reason the dog's body looks slightly lumpy is because you probably were working it too much. When you poke it too much, the felt will get clumped together and get bumpy and hard in some spots. It's a hard line to walk, but the key is definitely to try to keep it from being too over-poked. Otherwise it'll get the effect you had, where it looked bumpy. Again, though, your dog looks so absolutely adorable. (If you're wondering what my first needle felting project was, you probably weren't, but just in case, I was trying to make a watermelon with a face. Sounds easy, but I promise, it was not. )🍉🍉🍉

Yes I’ve done dry felting (the technique to make the shiba inu). Next time sit it on the foam block whilst ‘poking’ it to make it less likely that you poke yourself. If you look closely you’ll see the needles are serrated which is what teases the wool together into felt. The longer you poke it for the smaller and denser the body and areas of wool will become and you can get a more defined shape. Honestly yours is super cute. I already have all the stuff out of the second kit but would love to make something as cute as this little dog, you’ve inspired me to get my dry felting stuff back out and learn to make something a little more complex and cute!
@JustARandomOnTheWeb4 жыл бұрын
Also you can buy multi-needles that are a bunch of needles all in together which are great to speed up doing a large area but I think doing something that small I’d have stuck to a single or double anyway.

I was cringing so hard watching you felt😬, you're supposed to use the needle (which has tiny hooks on it and is what binds the felt fibres together) in an up and down motion only ontop of the square safety foam provided. He turned out really cute, but i was so worried you'd hurt yourself❤️

I loved how the bear turned out, and I've been wanting to try needle felting for quite a while now

Needle felting is so relaxing! You just get to stab stuff over and over again, lol. I got a kit for Christmas years ago and made it my go-to stress relief craft.

Chole would you try pour art? I have been doing it for a while and I'm thinking of selling some of them on Etsy and whatnot lol but I think that would be cool if you tried pour art though you do have to get a few things for it lol

Wow, way to go on getting outside your comfort zone! The soapstone bear was interesting..... I've never seen kits for those before.... I need to check those out. The bear/fox/Shiba Inu was interesting too. I've never done needle felting but it looks like fun. Even though yours didn't turn out to be a carbon copy of the picture on the package, it still looked good, doubly so since you've never done anything like that before.

Ok, I'm definitely getting some soapstone kits off etsy because that's next on my list of stuff I haven't done yet but have always wanted to try, and now I'm convinced it can't be any harder than carving wood blocks and I did that fine. I found a different company that has a much wider selection of animals and larger size final carvings for the same price plus they send a double ended curved rasp so you can carve curves as well as flat areas. They also sell bulk stone and separate tools if you don't want to buy a kit.
