I just love that a kit it donated to a Childrens hospital! I was born with a chronic illness & spent a lot of time in the hospital as a child. We had the best volunteers that always had wonderful arts & crafts projects for us that were donated by Hallmark (it was founded in my city) I hope she knows how much joy those kits will bring the children. It was the best part of growing up in a hospital & fostered my lifelong love for the arts.

These turned out so cute!!! An artist on KZbin (I'm so sorry...I can't remember who) said the best piece of art advice he ever got was when he asked an older, successful artist what was the best way to improve his art. The artist replied that he should pick one subject (the KZbin artist picked mushrooms) and draw it over and over for a year. Yours are bears :)

I definitely have a weakness for art and craft kits, I've got a small collection of kits I've bought during 2020 and not used yet. Currently doing a paint by number, and it's taking me a very long time because there are lots of tiny areas to paint. If you're in Australia, I'd recommend supporting Art Somewhere/The 107 Project, in Redfern. I managed to get one of their Art at Home boxes during Covid, they're currently sold out and have an option to come with alcohol. I did some pretty cool stuff with polymer clay, and had a cute instructional video to help me get some ideas on how to use the materials without being limited to copying a certain project.

I am not an expert but I have done this before... you should never ever ever use lighter colours on top of darker ones. They are usually baked after painting and then glazed. The darkest colours show up more and will not look the same before and after you put it in the oven. BUT they are cute, just don't put them in the oven or use them much. 😅❤️ (usually multiple layers is also a bad idea)

fun fact! i work at a pottery painting studio and when i saw that little heart shaped bottle with the cork i had a VISCERAL reaction. we had those as a toddler event item in february and they are the WORST to load in the kiln! i dont' think i've ever hated an item as much as i do that bottle! their bottoms are concave and tiny so they're a bitch to balance and i've already had three fall over and fuse to other items. sooooo happy that kit comes with a sealer so you don't have to kiln fire it!

The pottery box is awesome, but the stamp says "made in china". I work at a studio and those pieces are imported. Still super cute! Also, I'm concerned about acrylic paints being used on items that you eat with because acrylics aren't food safe. 🥺 does she indicated the sealants are food safe sealants?

Wait hoollllddd up.. $45 not including shipping, cheap kid brushes, some glue “sealant”, paint you could’ve gotten all 5 full sized colors for 5 bucks and 3 tiny things of pottery to paint and there’s probably not even enough paint to cover all 3.. I- Just buy the figurines/mini pottery at the craft store and your own paint imo. I know these are craft kit videos but that’s my suggestion if anybody at home wants to do this

I wanted to add I did not watch the full video before commenting this. I did not realize the proceeds went to sick children and the business was small that sold the kit. But the advice still stands. If you’re a broke artist, I recommend following my advice. If you have the money to essentially donate $20 to sick kids and small businesses do so. If not - don’t

I think the glue was susposed to be like a glaze of some kind otherwise there's no sealant included in this kit. Its a cool kit and i love the poison apple 🍎
