One of my favorite parts about traveling is the presentation of food in different places, not just the food itself. In America or Canada, I would never think to see food served on a roof tile. But some restaurants do it in Hanoi and now Croatia. Since I can't try the amazing food you guys try, I'll just admire the cool presentation and add it to my endless bucket list. Great video as always! I always look forward to your videos. They put a smile on my face every time!

prawn tail can be razor sharp even after frying so it is much safer not to eat it whole....instead you just break them where its body meets the head and pull all the juicy bits out.....for me prawns are all about the texture and dressing/marinade.... they have such delicate taste that even the lightest marinade overtake the taste and you need about a tonne to get your belly full....

For you VR fans like myself, the entire region around Split is covered in both full 3D and 360 degree Street View images in the new Google Earth VR version. Even the extensive white rock mountains to the north are fully covered in full 3D and 360 degree "street views" by hikers with what are now cheap 360 degree cameras. And Street View from actual streets takes you right to the front door of Konoba Fetivi. It is just like having your own private cab and touring helicopter. That restaurant is within easy walking distance from the large tour boat ports of which several tour boats were in port when the 3D photogrammetry imagery was shot down at 45 degrees from a low flying airplane above in 5 different directions in order to get all sides of everything. Massive computers in large banks amazingly do the rest to create a massive 3D model of the entire region from above. Welcome to the new world of virtual reality. FYI - The Google so-called "street view" library part now has over 3 BILLION 360 degree images of the world from all prospectives. GEVR with both street views and the 3D models is considered one of the few VR "killer apps" by VR enthusiasts. They have not figured out how to reproduce the food and wine however. BTW - GEVR does not work on the new low cost and self-contained Oculus "Go". And about 1300 entire regions around the world have been captured this way so far.

46 euro's for 2 people is actually not bad from what I have noticed in Croatia. We spend about 30 euro's a person each night in Croatia because the food is pretty expensive there. In Bosnia we spend I believe 40 euro's including tip for 3 people for a massive meat platter, drinks and dessert, and then in Croatia it sometimes ended up being 90 euro's for the same but not as tasty food. It's a shame Croatia is so expensive because the food is pretty amazing.
@samuelandaudrey6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing that. Indeed, we found Bosnia to be quite a bit cheaper in terms of prices of food. I think maybe the key to having more affordable meals would be to eat away from the centre or touristy zones.
@CB-jv6cj6 жыл бұрын
Samuel and Audrey - Travel and Food Videos We did, that's the strange part. We only ate away from the touristy parts in Croatia because in Split town centre and especially Dubrovnik, it was just insane. The one time we ate in Split our meal was a bit more expensive, absolutely amazing, but we just got the tiniest portion so we decided not to do that again haha.
@anelapijuk57426 жыл бұрын
Sorry, but for example, the price of minced meat used in meat plata is way cheaper than cuttlefish for risotto. In Split you also have a lot of resturants where you may eat delicious burgers, pizzas and meat platter for a cheaper price. All depends on what you want, some traditional food is expensive because its ingredients. But I also do not deny that some places set their price higher because of their name and popularity. I suggest you to visit Pecado resturant to try burgers and resturant Calypso that is a bit far from the centre, if you want a bit cheaper options. Also, if you didnt try traditional meal "Pašticada" yet, I suggest that also.
@CB-jv6cj6 жыл бұрын
Anđela Pijuk I definitely agree and we have also tried other meals including a complete fish platter with all types of more expensive fish, so I do understand but I do feel like because of the location a lot of places like to charge way more for a lot less food. The same thing in Dubrovnik.
@anelapijuk57426 жыл бұрын
Cynthia Bernardy I agree for Dubrovnik, Dubrovnik is the most expencive city in Croatia to visit, even without food. But in every other city in Croatia there may be found places with "normal" prices.

"Dragi Sam i Audrey", Dear Sam and Audrey'. Most ,if not all, of the calamary and cuttlefish ( and haddock/merluza ) You would be offered as "local" in Europe,Spain,Greece and other countries, comes from Argentina's territorial waters under the usurpation of the British imperialistic occupation of the Malvinas Islands and other South Atlantic islands belonging to Argentina. Brittain "sells" the fishing "permits" to any hungry 'first world" nation wiling to loot Argentina's sovereign waters and marine wealth. And so they do,telling tourists the happy tale of the "delicious" Mediterranean and Adristic sea seafood. Being of Dalmatian descent and having relatives in Dalmatia, I've been told, that long since, fishing in both seas its not enough any more to feed the countries of the region, much less the millions of tourists that visit the region and the rest of Europe every year. So looting Argentina's natural wealth with the help of the historic bully keeps being the "best" way of "enjoying" a good seafood meal for the Europeans. Saludos criollos desde Sydney. As the Catalan singer Joan Manuel Serrat used to sing: "truth its never sad, what it doesn't have is remedy " " nunca es triste la verdad, lo que no tiene es remedio"
@samuelandaudrey3 жыл бұрын
Also a lot of Chinese fishing vessels as well? It seems that area is being exploited by many countries.
