I’m a firm believer that the key to great style is the cleansing and conditioning(for your hair type). I’m an Olaplex and Aveda products junky. But after hearing about Curlsmith I decided to give it a try! I started with the scalp treatment line. Then added the moisture line…conditioner, leave ins and the style fixer. Because I’m high porosity I rotate the protein conditioner in every other week. So , for three weeks of use I can honestly say I’m loving them!!!! Olaplex is still tops with me but with Aveda and Curlsmith in my arsenal I don’t need to waste my money on products that just don’t get the job done… for me!

I absolutely love Curlsmith! Their products give me moisture and definition. I used all 3 of the coily heroes stylers together for a twistout and it gave me one of my best twistouts! I definitely think you should try those for your braid out.

Thanks for making this video. Most videos I’ve seen they claim to have 4c hair but they don’t. My hair is 4c and texture looks more like yours(truly 4c). So thank you very much for sharing your hair routine with us. Btw, you have really pretty natural hair.

There is no question that the Curlsmith is a clean brand, but its way too expensive considering its performance, aside from their deep conditioners. There are better products u can buy for less price Be careful though there products are potent Ty for the video, very honest review

IMO leave in works better on soaking wet hair. Also a natural stylists recommended to me adding dc to soaking wet hair and adding less product and more water to create a squishing sound (not sure if that make sense) This method works well with this dc

But I applied the deep conditioner on soaking wet hair. Lol. I use a lot of deep conditioner not necessarily cuz I need to but because I have a lot of deep conditioner that I need to use up.

Soaking wet as in flat to your scalp and full of water. Your hair care practices are great you just aren’t getting your hair wet enough. I was doing to same thing and wondering why my hair wasn’t thriving. Make sure you run water on your hair until it’s hanging and pretty much flat to your scalp, if the hair is still puffy it’s not wet enough. Just more water kickstarted my hair health and hydration. Spend a good 2-4 mins just wetting your hair. You’ll notice a huge difference 💜

I just bought Curlsmith products but I totally get what you were saying about being wary for kinky curly hair. I always felt like curlsmith catered to curly hair but not necessarily kinky curly hair but I do LOVE the Bond Rehab Salve and Double Cream Deep Quencher Mask and Souffle with In Shower Style Fixer for Twistouts to get definition and longevity for my twistout

Do they have any products for moisturizing like a leave in conditioner/moisturizing cream that is not a curling cream/gel like product?

@kiaramorgan4120 you can use the multitasking conditioner as a leave in. I don't have that product though so I cannot speak to my personal experiences. It just says on the label that it can be used for that purpose.

@Trinity M exactly. The formulation. The only difference between the Tgin honey miracle mask and Aussie moist is honey and olive oil. The rest of the ingredients are the same. I've not used the mask but I've used Aussie and borrowing from Perry Romanowski of the beauty brain and chemist corner, they usually source their ingredients from almost the same manufacturer but the price point usually differ due to units bought, branding, marketing and advertising.

Thanks for this video! I just happen to be @ Ulta one day and went to the hair care section and saw the type 4 haircare photos for curl Smith. I was immediately curious because I've never seen anything catered to type 4 hair textures in ULTA. However, I noticed that everything was out of stock, which made me more curious. I found myself going back to Ulta several times, to see if they restocked, but they were always out of stock. On that note, since I have products that are staples for me, I'll pass. Maybe, just maybe I'll try the deep conditioner...

I too said the washing products will be the ones I will use up, my hair laughs at the stylers and the leave-in makes me feel like it's giving me product buildup 😞 the curl bond has amazing slip and defines my curls but I can't use that every wash day. I wish I knew of something with that much slip to pre-poo with. That african pride pre-poo doesn't work for me lol

you might like the in-shower style fixer gel better... it's a thicker gel. it does have a stronger hold which you may or may not prefer but the cast easily scrunches out. i've tried the orange line and the stylers from the blue line (which i liked better than the orange stylers) and i've tried their bonding salve which i love and will like always keeps in my stash.

And products work better on cleaner hair. People be wondering why their twist outs, braid outs, and wash and gos are trash. Styling products need to adhere to your hair. Products build up will stop that 💯

I’m not a co-wash but done co washer have milder cleaning ingredients then your typical shampoo. Therefore it’s not as harsh. Which is why some people like co washing. But they still shampoo or clarify just not as often.
