There's so many videos of influencers praising this place and recommending it and then the majority of regular people that I have spoken to or have come across their videos seem to say the complete opposite. Like sidecar donuts in San diego (some single donuts over $5.00) was kinda meh to me while barrio donas' $1.75 cinnamon sugar donut had me craving more all week. I think places like this care more about appearance than flavor... which makes it Instagrammable for celebs but meh to us normies

That's because they are not "real" donuts. They are a mixt between pastry and donuts. I'm not an expert, but the first and last one are inspired by French ones. This is why the first one looks like burn sugar. And it is actually. It's called crème brûlée. It's made with egg yoks, cream, sugar and vanilla, for the top you put some sugar you gonna burn with a flame 🔥. The last one is inspired by mille-feuille. It's like lasagna but with vanilla cream instead of meat, and puff pastry instead of pasta. Puff pastry is also used to make croissants 🥐, ... It looks pretty legit actually. 😅
