Tbh, If i had a friend that was new, I would reccomend them Elphelt too. Along with Leo, ram and Ky. These characters are so brainded( meaning so easy) for how top tier they are.

Personally my favorite character is Bedman?. In terms of execution, he's easy af, but in terms of actually being allowed to play the game, he's hard as hell. Mans frame data is so bad it's seriously not even funny, has terrible defensive options, and has a 0 guts modifier despite being one of the larger hurtboxes. It is fun when you get a win though, mostly because people instantly leave because they lost to a lower tier character lmao. I think I would personally reccomend Elphelt and Sin (on top of the obligatory play Ky or Sol) to new players. Both have good normals and good mix up with a pretty straight forward game plan. Anyways I'd still say you'd give out pretty good advice!

Imagine losing to a Bed.( I have) I play Chipp and tbh idc that hes top tier id play him regardless. I like his story... its a lot like my story.. which leads me to my next point. Ggst is a game where you should play your favorite character. Every character is viable and every character deserves representation .... so why not just play who you like the most . That would be my tip for a new player. I like your reccomendations too

Thanks for the kind words c: Edit: I think people definitely put too much focus on tiers. Unless the character is broken when piloted correctly, like Happy Chaos before the season 3 patch, then there's no reason to even worry about tiers unless you're a tournament player. Even if you are a tournament player, there is representation for every character in the game. Even Bedman/ Bedman?, who is considered a fairly lackluster character both in Xrd and Strive, is played at a tournament level by GcYoshi. What I'm saying is play who you want to play and just aim to be the best you can at your character, it doesn't matter if your character is high or low in the tiers. All that matters is that you have fun!

I just got into Guilty Gear 3 days ago and funny enough for the same reason. Elphelt my beloved~ Was a really encouraging vid cause I also don’t come from any FGC so this is my first time trying to get into one… Started 4F dropped to 2F LOL and got back to 4F last night so I’m working on it Fantastic editing and your insanely quick growth is super impressive, hopefully I can achieve even a fraction of that success 😅

New Guilty Gear player here i like this video mainly because i am trying to learn the game and it looks fun when you play Elphelt. I hope you will make more videos trying other character's. Btw the only FG i played before was Tekken 3 and Soul Edge when i was a kid so getting into Strive is really hard for me so i am happy for you getting good at it!

If you play Elphelt I’m telling you that you will make characters with bad or no defense options like I-no cry and dodge your games every single time because Elphelt is the type of character that you can’t really do anything against without a DP and most of her options a safe unless she just rekka spams which you can get out for free atp but with I-no specifically she’s a nightmare to deal with you basically want to have them not able to play the game before you aren’t able to play the game and I’m serious about that if you don’t want certain characters to play the game play Elphelt

People make a lot of mistakes there still so you should be punishing a lot to win. Just remember this: If opponent in air then 6P If you blocking then don't spam buttons only if you REALY know for sure that it is going to work If opoonent attacks and misses REKKA SPAM. You got this!

Even if the character is easy I don’t think that lessens your accomplishment. If you had picked asuka or something you might have quit before even getting there. I know that’s what woulda happened to me. I play potemkin , I realize he’s easy, but getting my grabs off is not (at least to me), so whenever I win against someone playing a harder character I don’t feel like I robbed my opponent especially if I executed my setups correctly and hit most of my Kara cancels.

Yo no problem, I’m using a lever less controller I built myself, but tbh anything works. Controller pad, fight sticks, and lever less they’re all viable options. Best thing is to maybe watch a video on it and make the decision later
