The great thing about indonesian food is that it is soo diverse. Indonesia consists of so many regions and their own ethnicities. Almost each regions have their own signature dish. Despite of the differences we still share the common dishes. Such as nasi goreng, bakso etc. But even then each regions have their own take of those dishes. The indonesian food you get in holland is actually not really indonesian, it is indisch. There is a difference between indonesisch and indisch. But yeah so many dishes you need to try. The soto(soup) dishes alone, there is like 25 different types. And sate, we have at least 15 different sates(unlike in the netherlands you will see 1 type of sate or in some cases 2). A couple recommendation. - nasi campur bali. - babi guling(bali) - ayam betutu(bali) - nasi campur jawa(aka. warteg) - nasi padang(west sumatra) - bebek madura(madura specialty) - ayam taliwang(lombok) - gado gado/ ketoprak(jakartan specialty) - soto betawi(jakartan specialty) - ayam geprek(javanese) - gudeg(yogyakarta specialty) - seafood(jimbaran, bit overpriced due to location and atmosphere) - se'i daging, smoked meat(ntt specialty) And so much more. To many to mention really. Food from manado, makassar, banjarmasin, medan, palembang. But yeah have fun trying the food there. Ow and Jakarta offers the best international cuisine as well. Very authentic korean, japanese, vietnamese, thai..more authentic compared to in holland. And more fast food choice as well compared to holland.

Have you try Indonesian salad? I recommend Karedok, Pecel, and Gado-gado. Well, for me Karedok is my most favorite. And don't forget to order cendol/dawet as desert.

Rendang and rice with a dab of mustard was my uncle's favorite meal before he went to work. This brought back great memories of him. Thanks for sharing!

The best thing on Indonedian food regarding food colour is they are organics ,. Yellow is turmeric.. Red is dragon fruit , blue or purple from blue/purple sweet potatos . . its rich with antioxydant n best is they are cheap because you can just grow it at yr backyard

Yup. Those two u taste are the best of Masakan Padang variants. And also the Ayam Bakar Padang is a must eat or try.

There are other famous padang dishes other than rendang and gulai ayam that you should try. If you are into smokey flavour in beef, try dendeng batokok. Eat it with rice drenched in gulai soup, heaven! Also, try ayam pop. At a glance, it might not look as appetizing as other padang food since it has no colour other then plain white chicken, but booyyyyy, once you bite into it, oohhhh... It is sooo flavourful! Not as punchy as rendang or gulai coz it is not spicy, but still that darn good! After the first time i ate it, I had it for several days in row. So addicting! Try to eat padang food in famous padang restaurant for the best experience. I dont know any famous padang restaurants in bali, but some of the famous ones in indonesia are: sederhana, pagi sore, merdeka, simpang raya. They have branches in many cities and the price are quite reasonable. Ooh, try sate padang also! The sate is usually made of beef meat, tongue, or innards. The most common ones i think is the tongue ones. They are very different from regular javanese sate with its peanuts sauce. The protein is more smokey, and the sauce has curry flavour. Yummm! If you are not into innards, i suggest try the tongue one.

Rendang is not Balinese food but rendang from the Padang in sumatra, the original Balinese food is Babi Guling, babi genyol, babi nyat nyat, ayam betutu, ayam timbungan and others 👍

if you have time to go back and explore jakarta, try the Pagi Sore padang restaurant, they have the best rendang in town! (imo). Pagi Sore is famous in South Sumatra region.

How about go to Denpasar and try Ayam Goreng (javanese style fried chicken) Ny Suharti , they also serve Gudeg (jack fruit) from Yogya, you have to try. For Padang Food at least you have to go to real Padang Resto such "RM Sederhana" also on Denpasar. beside Rendang you have to tried Ayam Pop....enjoy Bali 👍❤

If you both have more time to hunt more tasty food or drink, try avocado juice and martabak. Try martabak telor and martabak manis, try milk & cheese toping for martabak manis. Ask not to put butter too much. So it won't be to oily. Happy hunting bro & sist👍🙏😊

@@CocoEats pancake fill with shred coconut, is coated with brown sugar,, that way is sweet,, but not to sweet, because brown sugar is different with regular sugar,,!! brown sugar Made from palm tree nectar,, very suitable for making food ingredients and desserts, in old day brown sugar is a substitute for granulated sugar to make tea or coffee because in Colonial time sugar is expensive and not all native can buy only Dutch and tuan tanah or people have money to buy,..!! my grandpa love that brown sugar to make tea,,,👍👍🙏
