I feel like the tomato is the one to blame for water-y-ness in the middle. Tomatoes are always a big risk in any sandwich but especially if it’s not being consumed straight away, like you took the sandwich home and I can just imagine all the tomato juices sogging up the bread and bleeding into everything and diluting the flavours we 🤚🏼 sundried tomatoes/tomato paste/sauce in sandwiches > fresh tomato, they’re great as their own being, I’m not hating on tomatoes but in bread it’s just too wet and not enough flavour
@tubeWyrme3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I don't think it's a fair test if it wasn't eaten straight away. Even a Subway can change it's flavour profile quite dramatically in the 15 mins it takes for delivery.
@potocatepetl3 жыл бұрын
It would have been fine if the tomato was placed between the cheese and the ham. It also had way too much salad. It would also help if the bread is slighly toasted before preparing the sandwich. And not eating the sandwich straight away is not an excuse. How many people eat a sandwich soon after buying it? Not many, especially nowadays. One waits to arrive home and wash hands and eat it in peace. Or buy it on their way to work and eat it several hours later.
@charliemackenzie-nash57073 жыл бұрын
@Ummm You can also cut the tomatoes, sprinkle salt on them, wait a while and then blot them with a piece of kitchen paper. The salt draws out the moisture from the tomatoes

Hello Grace and it is nice to see you better. For your information, I like either the Coronation Chicken sandwich or the Chicken Tikka Masala with Mango Chutney sandwich from Tesco. I had a great breakfast and dinner on UK Railtours 'The Aln Valley Venturer' London Kings Cross - Almouth charter excursion train last Saturday - Grilled Kippers & Scrambled Eggs for brekkie and Smoked Haddock Fishcake with Curry Sauce & Tomatoes for starter; Roast Supreme breast of Chicken wrapped in Bacon served with Haggis & Black Peppercorn Sauce, Potato & Swede Mash, Dressed Savoy Cabbage & Honey Glazed Baton Carrots followed by Lemon Meringue Tartlet with Fruits of The Forest Compote (I asked the chef Graham Osborne for another dessert and he gave me another one with LOADS of Fruits of The Forest Compote!). Best wishes and take care. Kind regards, Peter Skuce, St Albans. Hertfordshire.

theres a study they did on sandwiches (but it relates to all food prep) and basically when you make your own food cause youve touched it, seen it, smelt it etc by the time you eat it youre kind of "desensitised" to it thats why when other people make food for you it always tastes better (but specifically sandwiches in this study)
