I've done the liner in the bra trick, and it works really well. Funny story about this. Put the liner in my bra, finished the rest of my makeup, went to grab the liner and couldn't find it. Rolled my eyes, grabbed a backup, and went on about my day. Later on I went to scratch a spot on my chest and wondered what on earth was in my bra. Yep, it was the"missing" liner. I hope my little misadventure put a smile on your face. Be safe everyone.

If I have a lipstick that is “too much” I put lip balm on first and then the lipstick to get a sheer hint of that poppy color. I do this with reds, oranges, corals, etc. sometimes I just put it in the center and then a nude lip liner and it freshens your face and your bright shades get used more. I put my cool toned eyebrow pencil on moles if they get washed out from makeup. Last, I put powder on my eyelashes before mascara to thicken them and I always put eyeliner on after curling my eyelashes because the curler sometimes smudges it

I read an article yesterday that suggested not only putting on under-eye moisturizer and letting it soak in while you do the rest of your skin routine, but also putting on another layer right before you do your concealer. You don’t let it dry down, but go in straight away with the concealer. It helps plump your skin and helps it “melt” into the skin. The caveat is that you have to use a cream or oil that matches the base of your concealer because if you put a water-based concealer on top of an oily cream (or vice versa), it will separate.

actually started doing this recently too, to avoid creasing or crow's feet in my problem areas and keep my eye area more hydrated now in winter (i've moved from a florida-like climate to a cold climate this fall and my skin has not reacted great at first). Since we're still wearing a mask in office, I really need that hydration and a good concealer that stays on well throughout the day.i also, I apply a bit of powder to set it at the end. I don't even put on foundation nowadays as I risk ruining my KN masks.
@kathleenem92073 жыл бұрын
After I moisturize and let it sink in, I mix a little moisturizer into my foundation when I put it closer to my under eye. It avoids that “layered” look that screams concealer and doesn’t emphasize the wrinkles.

I used a colored brow gel first and then a pencil just to fill in the sparse areas. When I was a college cheerleader, we had to wear dark maroon lip stick. I can’t remember where I learned this trick but I would put on the lip stick, blot it off, reapply, blot again. BUT this is the best part! Take one ply of toilet paper or tissue paper (if you have two ply, rip it apart), put it against your lips and then swipe loose translucent against it. I don’t know how, but it worked! My mom made me take etiquette classes when I was 14 years old (1996) and that’s the way they taught us to apply our makeup. It wasn’t till I was in my early 20s that these steps switched. It's kind of interesting how we are used to a certain way and that is it for so many women. For decades it has been , at least for me, concealer before foundation around the eyes but I can see why the opposite might work better for a lot of people. Why I must do first is put some wax on my crazy eyebrows then use whatever else second. Older women (I'm 60) we get in a rut while even older women seem to be stuck forever. I literally wore the same makeup when I was young for years and years!!! How things have changed for us all. We have wonderful youtubers like you, Jessica that inspire me and you are so genuine that you are a joy to watch. :) Thank you!! Sidenote: Before I type it all I have to say that I would never want to hurt or offend someone about their appearance, I certainly need help myself!! So I came across a nice lady I have not seen in a few years the other day. She is beautiful and doesnt even need makeup but what she does is she always wears a very harsh, thick, black eyeliner and not applied very evenly either. Like I said she is beautiful, I wish that she would change up her routine with her eyeliner. If she did she would look even more stunning. :) God bless you all reading this in these very challenging times.

I’m a paper person but we switched to the AnyList app for all shopping years ago, and it’s so great. DH and I share the grocery lists so whatever I list, he sees, and vice versa. He keeps his own lists for work shopping and I keep my own for beauty, clothing, etc. It’s a great app. If I’m shopping a particular store where I have an account or use a devoted app like Whole Foods, I just transfer my grocery (or other) list to the store app’s list according to what’s on sale, what I typically buy at that store, etc. I had an adjustment period because I’m a paper person, but this keeps us so much more organized as a couple who share shopping duties. I’ve even used the AnyList app to organize and purchase my wardrobe. We hit the road a year ago and live FT in our RV, so capsule wardrobes are saving me, and I’ve made capsule lists for every season with AnyList. I don’t have to look in my closet to plan what I want to wear; I just look at the app.

I learned so much from watching and couldn’t wait to get up the next morning to do my makeup using these hacks (and I may just have ordered some new makeup before I went to bed lol). I used an eye shadow, one shade, similar to the one you used, and the highlight under the eyes, dark shadow upper liner and mascara tricks and wow, did I ever have a gorgeous natural makeup look! I would definitely love to see this as a regular series! Thanks for all the great videos!

The reason I love watching you is, you’re relatable, wholesome and you’re not over the top with makeup looks. I feel like your content is realistic and naturally beautiful. Just like Emily Noel. Just wholesome, realistic and good content. ❤️

I LOVE the way your liner looks this way, it's so flattering and soft. I wear liner the way you do, naked on the bottom and a thick-ish line with a flick on top, and I always follow with a dark shadow to soften it. It cuts down on the potential harshness of liquid liner!

i wouldn’t recommend curling lashes after applying mascara. my friend in high school used to do that everyday and then one day she lost all her eyelashes cuz she fucked em up. had to wear falsies for like idek how long but it looked wack either way....

Hi Jessica. I'm new to commenting on our channel. I have been watching your channel for awhile and I love it and you. I am most likely close to your Mom's age or older. I am 56 and I enjoy your channel because it helps me stay young and youthful. You have a beautiful family and heart. I appreciate so much when you share things about your faith/Christianity. Thank you and keep up the great videos.😍😊😘

This kind of became a big trend, but because I don’t like how most complexion products sit on my skin, I’ll put on extra cream blush and then do a light dusting of powder foundation over the top. It works well for me!

I do that too. I've been using lipstick as my cream blush and powdering it.

Love your videos. My hack is for mascara....when your mascara is starting to get a little dry, add 2-3 drops of contact solution...works like a charm and extends the life of your tube.

I like how your videos have quiet energy to them. Dunno if that makes sense, but you're excited about things without being over the top hyper or loud about them. It was particularly soothing today (I have had... a week...) Anyhoodles... I find that waxier mascaras - Better Than Sex, Lash Paradise, others along that line of texture - and waterproof mascaras benefit from being warmed up. Since I do my makeup at my bathroom sink, I run a cup of hot water from the tap and let the tube sit in that while I do everything else. I do the same with brow or eyeliner pencils from time to time, too, if they're a harder textured pencil.

I do the brow hack but I use tinted gel so it keeps me from over filling my brows! Basically the tint handles it’s areas then I fill in only the sparcest of areas. Plus it helps shape them prior!

I put my concealer on before foundation, I have rosacea and it seems to give me a better "canvas" to start my foundation with. I also find that if my concealer is not quite the right shade then the foundation is a little more forgiving on the concealer. I also love the Robert Welsh concealer, he made me realize that the only place I actually have discoloration around my eyes is above my tear duct and on the outer edge it is a good way to help shape (or cleanup) the edge of my outer eye.
@cliz20733 жыл бұрын
Robert is a genius I agree, but I think the major concept of his technique is using less concealer so they sink less in the fine lines. I love his technique of less is more. Also the position he places the concealer helps lift the face (especially blending on the outher corners). 👏👏👏

This was fun. I don't ever squish sponge in towel, but do really roll brush on damp cloth, then surround the bristles and really rub the moisture in. Makes my makeup blend beautifully. Also I curl my eyelashes after I put on my eyelash primer. It is so easy because your lashes are outlined and you can see the curl easier. I am careful though, I do it quickly after I applying the primer because I don't want to break my eyelashes.

Awww! You look lovely Jess! Hey, I just wanted to tell you something about re-curling your lashes (after you already have mascara on them) you need to be absolute sure to wipe your eyelash curler off completely in between curls. If not your lashes will stick to the curler (from mascara residue) and it will pull your lashes out. I keep little alcohol wipes at my makeup desk for days that I feel doing an extra curl. I know you said it’s not something you see yourself doing, daily (I don’t either, just special occasions) but I just wanted to the info along. Hugs, Brenda 💄💄
