Indonesian Siomay (for the Dim Sum) usually uses Chicken and Shrimp meat. They often mix it with pepper and chili to make it more spicy, usually in Halal dim sum since they can't use pork. Non-halal dim sum usually don't mixed with pepper and chili, it rely on the pork to give savory flavor to the dim sum. There are so many variation of Dim Sum type in Indonesia. Since Yogyakarta loves sweet food, they tend to put mayonnaise on it.

7:53 ah you break my heart when you decided to avoid the second one 'not spicy' lava fire dumpling 😂✌️😁 just kidding and I'm sorry I laughed in this part, but I'm really enjoyed both of you interaction.. have a good times and see you in next video 🙏☕👍

Gosh, you two are awfully brave! I had only had Indonesian food, while in Bali, from our hotel’s breakfast menu. Ha
@TalesFromOurPocket Жыл бұрын
😂😂 I'm not sure whether I (Heather) was brave. Naive is probably a better word. I didn't know there was "normal" food out there that was so spicy it should have a warning label for Americans who aren't used to it! Hahaha

Nice! Breathe Fire? The spice came from the chili sauce added on top. I'm just guessing.
@TalesFromOurPocket2 жыл бұрын
Haha, it was definitely on the inside of the dumpling. It was "spicy fire" even in places where the sauce wasn't! Every bite brought new pain to my mouth. 😂

You choose mostly seafood paste food..2nd one looks like squid paste roll...3rd one is cheesy fishball dumpling I think.

Yes, we also went to Prambanan! And some other sights in Yogya. If you're going during Ramadan, I'd recommend watching our video with the Thumbnail that says "People were wrong about Yogya"! We talk about our experience visiting there during Ramadan and you should have a better idea of what to expect. 😊😊
