Reminds me of early Planetside 2 when all the base maps were wide open and vehicles dominated everything. Only got fixed when overhauled all the bases to have more infantry cover, and I doubt EA would be open to that amount of effort.

love it or hate the devs for ps 2 did loads of work.. crazy how much has been added to that game.. you can build bases and mine resources like a fps command and conquer lol.. only thing is its mostly vets still playing so its rough trying it now

2042 is not thy far off from our time, 20 years in the future they will still be using weapons we are using today, AK 74s, AK Ms. M16s. M4S would definitely be used in the future, RPGs, I just really feel like they didn't want to do much at all with 2042s weapons, they should add all the weapons from Bad company 2 and Battlefied 3 into 2042 base game, most of those weapons would definitely still be used in the future

The being able to call in the hovercraft is a lil to much I think. you should be able to only call the jeep or whatever . Just my opinion

The devs stupidly thought “ people cheat! What if we made a game with literal wall hacking, showing where bad guys are all the time. Let’s build sniper spots all over the map to enable snipe camping, and Grenada spam cause every specialist can refil their own gernades! 😵”

Game needs more map variation. All these large scale battles have the same idea and flow to them. Wide open flat areas between objectives with zero cover between. Hell, some objectives have little to no cover as well. You're constantly vulnerable no matter where you are located so theres no real strategy to flanking or working as a squad to take an area, it's just constant chaos but not really in a good way. DMRs and that SMG rule the game due to poor weapon balancing and weak map design, the fact that there's shotguns in this game just seems like some kinda sick joke as they're completely useless in every map in the game lol. Certain maps have decent areas but it just feels like you're screwed every time you're not in a vehicle because that's what the maps cater too. It's cool to have some maps like they have here but every single map? C'mon man. How could they not add any infantry maps?! This game desperately needs more map variety (preferably 32V32) There is some good to this game but it's buried under a bunch of bad ideas and poor implementations. Bugs are one thing, they can be fixed but there are some issues with this game that are built into it's core and cannot be changed without invasive surgery. Portal, if supported properly is likely going to be the future for this game...

Playing 128 players on the old maps with the old classes is still a blast! Will pick this up when it's 20 or 30$ for portal alone (and by then even more maps will have been added and the bugs and network issues will be sorted out) ;) People buying it at full price in its current state are dumb af

@@cyphaborg6598 Game pass gives you 10 hours trial (since ea play is included) and first month of game pass is just 1$, in case you want to try the game out. I think it's fun, just not worth 60$. 128 players breakthrough mode and portal mode are fun as hell. But there are many reasons to dislike the game too, a mixed bag.
