Been playing now just on a year, 68 turning 69. So to expect a lot remains difficult. I‘m trying Melodics out and after a few attempts to get going found it quite accessible. I think a mixture of approaches is helpful. Drumeo is great for certain aspects. I‘m greatly impressed with Mike Barnes, (you tube channel)who influenced me to get going with the Trinity College grades and drum kit introduction, which i find has a excellent and methodical build up. So practising at a managable tempo with tempo increases is taking me forward. Loving every minute of it despite the ups and downs.

Nice work Timothy. I like Melodics, but not had much time for drumming lately, also had a go at picking up guitar. So many interests, so little time :)

I'm curious how you manage to record the audio/video and monitor your playing without latency. I was trying to record the audio/video with OBS and because of about 25ms of latency makes it actually impossible to do. I've tried the melodics suggested AISO4All and various other settings to mitigate this but so far... no love.

I recorded the melodics portion with screen recording on the ipad, and then myself with my DSLR, then merged them in the edit for the video. Hope this helps.

Is this app only designated for one download on laptop? Sometimes I’ll use my Mac, and another day I’ll use PC or Linux.

Melodics works on OSX, Windows and iOS currently.

Not sure I follow ... the hand you use depends on the style you play.

Did you try the iPad version?

Yup, I only use the iPad version now. Much easier to use with how I have things setup. See kzbin.info/www/bejne/gaG3ZpV-rdVnrqM

What VDrums are you using? Mine are old with Midi out. Wondering if there's a midi to usb I'd need to connect to a laptop 🤔

hi - been looking at this melodics thing - do you know if you can download the program and transfer to a pc that is not attached to the internet or does it run from the internet - my kit is in an outbuilding. I also had a look at drumeo, watched a few vids but when you flag up a beginners drum fill lesson and a guy pops up with 17 drums and umpteen cymbals - er, no, think I'll skip that, before it starts. p.s. - watched your intro vid, - not really a geek as such but would have a beer with you! (it wasnt a bottle of lager was it?)

Not larger, thats a bottle of Henry Westons Vintage Cider .... yummy :) Regarding Melodics, it needs an Internet connection sadly. I used Drumeo for a while but couldn't get on with it. Melodics is alot better, sadly not had time to do any drumming for a while.

I have the computer plugged into the line in on the drum set, then I can hear the drums and the Melodics app. I am now trying out the iPad version, more info to come on that soon.
