Trying out Realistic Paint Studio - Part 1 Oil paints

Steve, you can add manually any background. Those backs are actually files stored in c:\Program Files\Realistic Paint Studio\Bg\ , they mimic to .dat extension but it is .jpg. You may copy one, rename extension to "jpg", open and edit, change extension back and you should get background you desire.

Hi Steve I think you are correct in saying that this art package is to give the feel of real painting ie.a canvas,some brushes etc no blending and crop etc That’s what I believe the package gives you so realistic paint is correct for this I have it on the iPad, in real painting as you said you would not have the likes of crop and fancy tools would you. I think you did a good job with this like it a lot

Hi Jen, Digital Easel is a safe space, for artists to post their work to be shared with like minded people. For that reason it is a private group and unfortunately requires a Facebook account to join. Glad you like the painting 😀

You mentioned wanting a neutral background. There has been a recent update - so you can have the canvas by itself without the easel. Using the latest iPad Pro with this app feels very responsive.

The oil palate is VERY buggy still even with the paid version. I tried to inform the developers but they just responded with an explanation of how to use it. They just don't get that it does not work 99% of the time and I doubt they even give a damn. I don't believe they are going to update it at all.

As someone who has tried both programs they are similar. But of course paint studio has pen pressure and art academy doesn’t

Hi Grace, Do you mean Dots per inch? You don’t need to worry about DPI if you size your image in pixels

It works on integrated gpu's as well but gets a bit hot after a while, as expected.

hi Nejimon, I’m not to up on the techi side of things. I’m using a PC that purpose built for gaming about 5 years ago. It has a dedicated graphics card and 16 meg of ram. That’s about as far as my knowledge goes

@@SteveElliottArt thanks Steve. It looks like you have a capable graphics card. I have a surface pro 6 with i5 processor and integrated graphics card. It really struggles to run this software. Rebelle 3 works perfectly though. I saw a few other reviews of Realistic Paint Studio, and none of them seemed to mention the hardware factor, so I was wondering if it's something that's on my side. Thanks for the reply anyway
