Love the fact that the DB9 controllers control the menu also. My current SNAC setup hardly gets used because of needing other controllers to access the menu.

Great and helpful video to return back to. As it's a tiny box compared to new consolized solutions like the Multisystem from RMC, this would be handy to put next to a computer monitor with a keyboard + mouse to run those computer cores. There's just one problem that's outside of our control, though. The Plus kit and that optional decapod controller hub are currently out of stock, and are probably so for long periods of time in between intermittent stocks.

I did the power jack mod for my IOUSB MINI4 from Antonio Villena. IIRC, the only cut was to the power jack so you can just replace it to reverse the mod… so: Not permanent. :)

For your compact carrying case, I wonder if a zip-up case originally intended for external 2.5 inch hard drives would be suitable. I have one that can take two drives AND their cables, and just might be big enough for the job.

Thanks for the idea! I'll look into that.

Great video, but did you mention what the rgb888 DAC out option does? I can’t seem to find info on that, even on Antonio’s website… is it to be able to output 1080p instead of 720?

Did you ever make that DB9 Decapod video? I’ve been looking but I’m not finding it. :(
@brentgreeff11152 жыл бұрын
Seems like the Multi-system has the SCART, - a comparison video would be nice. - I guess the NeoGeo has the best controller? - or playing sonic 3 with a Saturn Pad could be pretty cool. Or the Virtua Stick. - I hope this gets more support
@LusRetroSource2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, with this one SCART and component is used just like the regular IO boards.

Do these cases have the option for a more opaque lids. I'm not a fan of viable LEDs. It's a great design for a case though best I've seen.
@LusRetroSource2 жыл бұрын
I don't think so. There's no option to change the type of lids.

Any adapter to use snac and mt32 at the same time?
@LusRetroSource2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately I dont think it's possible. I read somewhere that the MT32 pi and SNAC use overlapping pins, so it's either one or the other.

The DB9 Decapod has built in SNAC and MT32pi… just add the Pi Zero.

It’s nice and all but I was really hoping it would have native composite support for standard crt televisions.
@LusRetroSource2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, it looks like the only way to get composite on any MiSTer setup is through the use of an adapter.

well, i order and today just received the kit. the case is now updated slightly (cut-out for sd-card, case extends to cover usb bridge. but what no one has said is that your existing ram is not compatible.... F@#K me, now i'm into more $$ for his ram and more shipping. Not very impressed. Case could do with more cooling too, it runs very hot with little space for the air to escape ...
@CHIBItheSPARROW5 ай бұрын
It says that about the RAM in the store, but maybe it didn't when you ordered it? Also, do you think you could remove the bottom or sides of the case to make it more airy? I'm thinking of buying the mini version of this case and IO board so I guess a similar principle would apply...
@argymutt99385 ай бұрын
@@CHIBItheSPARROW I'd avoid it myself, and go with pork chops store, if I had my time again. the store was updated after I purchased it, in response to my feedback. Didn't remove the need to buy another ram board though .... removing case sides to allow more airflow isn't why I bought a case ..

All this money spent on a supposed couple of frames of lag that I have never seen proved. Probably people using old outdated hardware with bad emulators and laggy displays.
@emmettturner9452 Жыл бұрын
??? For me, it’s about supporting obscure accessories, original controllers, and light guns. Lag isn’t the only reason to want SNAC.
@CalaTec11 ай бұрын
I love any type of emulation. For me the mister meant that I can avoid having a PC only to connect to my CRT (my PCs are ITX and can't have 2 GPUs), I don't have to deal with drivers. The raspberry is a good and cheaper option, and can be an even better choice for specific scenarios, but with the mister I don't have to set run ahead for each game, also run ahead is limited to 6 frames. The mister is too expensive, but it's fantastic. Any other alternative is not bad at all.
