Love your open-mindedness when traveling abroad. Really makes the trip more enjoyable doesn't it? That place you visited with the underground is cool and the house of a spy that transferred information and resources to the North Vietnam side right in the heart of the South Vietnam and US regimes. A lot of such heros that risked their life to be a double agent or simple passer of information in urban and rural places during the war.

Hello Shelbs and Chase, Wow that fascinating tunneled residence was full of history and vintage artifacts. The manual sewing machine, the legged TV, those motorscooters.... the tunnel was right smack in the middle of the living room. I believe that tunnel was for some high profile VC commander to direct the war effort in the South.

I love your love for hủ tiếu hahaha. In the other video when you got the salty coffee, I was surprised you mentioned hủ tiếu and even know there's a dry version, so it's nice to see a video of you eating one today! All the different pronunciations of Vietnam you mentioned were correct, all Vietnamese in different regions will understand any of those. Of course you can always rely on Google Translate's pronunciation if you're unsure. Oh and it's great to hear that you're content with your nomadic lifestyle right now. Just go at your own pace, no need to hurry up and have kids, everyone is different after all.

Patiently waiting for new video and YA it came. I had to laugh that you went to the restaurant next door instead. At least you did not order 1ST. WOW 40 min walk each way to this place. Delicious thin sliced pork and shrimp. Shelbs is really Lovin these noodles. Shelbs reaction after taking her 1ST bite of this meaty pork bone said it all. When I finally go to Vietnam for my 1ST visit, Bui Vien is an absolute must for me, I would stay a few blocks away, so I could sleep. Outstanding All Around

1:34 should definitely try Bo Kho (Beef Stew) sometime, it really hits the spot. Also in the same sphere would be Ca Ri (Vietnamese Curry), they're so good. Don't worry about your poor chopstick skills, maybe for on camera to get through quicker, but should definitely just power through and keep chopsticks no matter what. I was bad my entire life, but now I can never go back to fork for chopstick appropriate dishes. It takes time and every little bit of practice from each meal really counts, you'll look back one day and see! When speaking English here in the US, I pronounce it Viet-nom, so when you guys are speaking English it sounds slightly weird to hear Viet-nam. But in Vietnamese it is pronounced Viet-nam so you guys are technically correct, but even more accurately the "nam" part is with a drawn out "a" sound like as if there was an "aah" in there, so Viet-naahm. If you think of the "a" sound in apple, that is what you would use for Viet-nam. 15:19 if your description is accurate, it could be Chrysanthemum Tea.

VietNam is pronounced Viet-Nam and not Viet-Nom. The noodles you're having is dry noodles, how you eat it is whenever you eat the noodles you zip (drink) the soup in combination. Wet noodles is when the noodles are already sink in the bowl of soup.
