The ruler one works without a metal rule because of the weight difference, more mass is spread over plastic ruler in proportion to the metal one. the dove one you could see the cut. The salt and sugar one is bamboozling me though because (correct me if im wrong) that's sodium crystals so I don't know how it would work. Somebody who kn9ws more about this can let me know please
