Trying Tev's Kitchen | The Best Meal I've Had This Year!! (So far.....)

Today I finally got chance to try Tev's Kitchen and it was one of the BEST meals I've had so far this year!
For anyone that says LA doesn't have good soul food, you need to pay Tev a visit. Now is it exactly soul food? That's up to you to decided. I would consider it to be like a Caribbean Soul Food Hybrid.
Either way, this place is DEFINITELY worth a try!

I’m glad you took your cousin under your wing and you guys are doing this. At 18, I came home from the system in Baltimore. I was in juvenile facilities, group homes, foster homes, and mental hospitals from the time I was 12 till then. As an adult, I ended up going to prison. Luckily, I ran into a childhood friend while doing two years of a 4 year sentence. He wrote a book and let me read it and it was so good, I kind of got jealous and started writing. Another friend of ours that moved to Los Angeles suggested I learn how to write scripts. From there, I went to short films, then full length scripts. Now as a 39 yr old, I live in LA and I’m currently chasing a dream. My goal is to direct the movies I wrote. I wish I would’ve known I had talent at 18. I’d be so much further. Either way, I’m glad I figured it out. Much success to the both of you.

I love what he has done! I'm like one of the only white dudes in south LA. I've been here 30 years now. I would cook a lot of Polish food and bring it to the bars on Western. My Great Granny was a Polish immigrant. To this day everyone asks when I'm going to cook stuffed cabbage rolls or oxtails. I wish I had the drive to open a restaurant. It's tooooo much work.
