We started at Big Cup Cafe, where we got to sample a selection of amazing coffees brewed using beans from their own plantation. In addition to superb local coffee, they also have coffee brewing equipment on sale here, making it a true paradise for coffee lovers! The next plantation we visited treated us not just to their own coffee, but also their own wine, which made the trip even more enjoyable.
Our next stop was the Nisty Coffee Plantation, where we learned about all things coffee and ended our tour in the plantation’s store, where all of their products are proudly laid out on the shelves. The process of grinding and roasting coffee beans was also in full swing right there, so if you’re a coffee lover interested in how things are made, you can’t miss this! We were also served a cup of their delicious plantation-blend coffee, which was absolutely divine.
In addition to coffee, one of the plantation’s most popular offerings is their selection of fruit wines, available in flavours like pomegranate, chilli, papaya, and more. They also have red wine on offer for those who like the classic stuff!
Coorg is also home to several excellent restaurants, and we stopped at The Tibet Kitchen for some delicious thukpa and momos before indulging in some authentic local fare at Coorg Cuisine, where we sampled kadambuttu, pork curry, and much more!
And, in between all that traveling around town, we could not resist stopping for a quick refreshment break, which was made all the sweeter by the jaggery filter coffee, which is a local speciality!
