Looking forward to festive Christmasy vlogs. Didn't realize "cruising" was a thing. I love peppermint chocolate flavored...anything. I do...strangely...like the house vlogs. Something comforting about watching you and other vloggers do mundane things. I think the walk you take every day with the dogs through the field of cows and horses on a cold, misty day...lovely. I hope Lucy had a beautiful wedding.

My sis has worked for a cruise line for over 30 years and I didn’t bother to use her friends and family discount until last year. What a dummy I was! I am a complete convert! Last year I did an Alaskan cruise. Beyond amazing! Will do again! This year it was a Mediterranean cruise from Rome to Barcelona. You would love it. It was one of the best trips I have ever taken. Next year I want to do another European cruise maybe northern European, or I’d love to do some thing in Asia. I lived in Japan for four year, so I’d love to go back to Japan. Anyway, fun Duncan vlog! 🍩 ☕️

Joel how about the caramel apple spice from Starbucks? It's basically like Apple Cider -- the American, non-alcoholic version of apple cider -- with caramel added. It's very good 🙂 Not sure if they offer it in the UK but if they do, you should try it. In the USA, you can usually get Warm Apple Cider at an ice cream shop, coffee shop, farmer's market, or Christmas Tree farm (the latter obviously only during Christmas season). 🙂

Winter is slow for housing market. It picks up in the spring. If the house you like is still on the market, you will probably get a better price due to sitting on the market for so long. Being as the spring market should be stronger, you two might do better in the sale of Keegan's house. You seem happier in yourself since you have moved in with Keegan. I am so happy for you.

My sister recently did a European cruise with her husband for just over 3 weeks. She regrets the time of year they went because the ocean was very rough and even with the nausea patch it was hard. There was a point where they were at sea for 5 or six days straight so they had to go into the lowest part of the ship for the majority of the days to avoid feeling sick. They had a nice room but it was at the higher part of the ship and they felt the rough waters. So if you do a Euro cruise find out when the water is less choppy.

Hi Joel, I can't believe that Vlogmember is almost over. Just a thought on cruses: The Mexican Riviera is a Fabulous cruse. You would first need to get to LA or San Diego then a seven day cruse goes to Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlán, and Acapulco. All three are great cities. I went jungle hiking in Puerto Vallarta and beachy stuff in Mazatlán, and toured Acapulco. The best time to go is in November. The weather is perfect and unlike the Atlantic, no November hurricane weather.
@luminiferous1960 Жыл бұрын
According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Agency: "The official hurricane season for the eastern Pacific basin [which includes the coast of Mexico] is from May 15 to November 30, but tropical cyclones occasionally occur before and after these dates, respectively. A peak in activity is noted in late August, but this peak is less pronounced than the peak in Atlantic activity." On 24 Oct 2023 category 5 hurricane Otis made landfall near Acapulco: - 03:00 UTC (10:00 p.m. CDT October 24) at 16.1°N 99.7°W - Hurricane Otis intensifies to Category 5 strength about 55 mi (90 km) south-southeast of Acapulco. - 06:25 UTC (1:25 a.m. CDT) at 16.8°N 99.9°W - Hurricane Otis makes landfall with sustained winds of 165 mph (270 km/h) about 5 mi (8.0 km) south of Acapulco. - 09:00 UTC (4:00 a.m. CDT) at 17.2°N 100.1°W - Hurricane Otis weakens to Category 4 strength inland about 25 mi (40 km) north-northwest of Acapulco. Currently (24 Nov 2023), there is a tropical storm, Ramon, in the Eastern Pacific Basin southwest of the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula: - 03:00 UTC (7:00 p.m. PST, November 24) at 13.8°N 122.6°W - Tropical Depression Twenty‑E strengthened into Tropical Storm Ramon about 1,040 mi (1,675 km) southwest of the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula.

After you talked about all the financial issues around potentially buying the house, I remember you said your mom burst out laughing when you told her you were thinking of buying a horse. 😂 Somehow these things will all work out for the best. I understand what you were saying about not wanting to offend the owners of the house you hope to buy, with too low of an offer, but have you thought about writing to them and letting them know who you both are, how much you and your family love the place and what you will be doing to make a better offer? A personal connection can go a long way in your favor and since it has not been selling, together with the owners, you might even be able to work out an extended payment plan over a certain number of years (if they don't need all of the money up front). Who knows, they might be open to something that an estate agent wouldn't think of.

Living permanently in Florida? OMG I cannot imagine that or even wintering there. The place frightens me, so does Arizona. Now Palm Springs in Cali, even with the San Andreas Fault outside the city I’d rather face an earthquake than Florida. To each their own. I think I heard you say there was a Tim Hortons where you are. So iconically Canadian, their December flavour is Bailey’s. Is that similar where you are? Being “house poor” is never the ideal, but I’m surprised at how complex it is to get a mortgage in Britain. So different than here, you are approved for a mortgage amount, at least a maximum amount, then you only look at what is in your price range. You only pay federal tax if it’s a new build. So once tax has been paid a property is never re-taxed. When I bought my condo I was approved up to $500,000 CDN but I paid only $192,000 because I found what I wanted. My only real additional costs were the legal fees and the inspection. The seller pays their realtor and my realtor costs. So much clearer.

Now that you are a year in with your life with Keegan under the same roof it's comforting to know that you have settled in the life in the north.
