My hometown! That cendol place is my fav dessert place. A must go every time i go back to Kota Bharu. Watching this from Finland gives me mixed feeling. Make me happy and sad at the same time. Really happy that you both experience the food and hospitality of Malaysian people.

Loving the fact that you're exploring East coast peninsular Malaysia and are trying various local food. Quite refreshing content tbh. I just wished the audio was better. Cek Mek Molek (its full name) - Usually comes in either sweet (caramael/sugar) or savoury (spicy coconut) version. Street food I would recommend in Kelantan (not sure if you had tried): Tepung Pelita Laksam (Kelantan version of laksa) Lompat Tikam Akok You may source for this at Pasar Khadijah Market, it's a multi-level wet market at the city center.

Hi ZM, thanks so much for your kind words and great suggestions! Yes, we conciously decided to visit the east coast because it is a little bit more 'off the beaten path'. We certainly tried plenty of Laksam when in Kota Bharu and Kelantan and I must say that is one of my favourite Malaysia dishes! We found Akok in Kuala Krai (video coming soon!) and will have to come back for your other suggestions. Thanks also on the feedback on the audio. The irony is that we bought some microphones in Johor Bharu and have since found that in some cases, the audio is now worse than what we had prior to using them! Sadly, most of our Malaysia content used these microphones, but will will voice over any really poor sound in future.

@@BucketListTravellers Also chek mek molek means 'Beautiful' lady in Kelantanese-Pattani Dialect. I sourced for the recipe online and made it when i returned home. It delicious when it's fresh.

Kelantan one of the best food paradise in Malaysia ..eventhough its quite underrated...need to try Nasi Kerabu, Nasi Kukus Ayam Berempah, Laksa & Laksam Kelantan & tons of delicious kuih 😁

Honestly I cannot imagine eating the half boiled egg combine with that sweet pandan jam😅. But when I was there in Kota Bharu it made curious to try the roti thitab as well. It is interesting though😂.

at 3:38 there is word "Belut" which means Eel... dished based on Eel are quite famous in Kelantan such as Eel Maggi (as seen on the signage), Spicy Eel and Stir-Fried Eel.

the green jelly bits is called cendol so all cendols must have that bit otherwise it wouldn't be cendol. its made from Pandan and glutinous rice flour.
