STOP THE PRESS Reefwalker's cape does NOT reduce damage with animate dead. However! Ancient Cloak and 3rd age cloak do reduce it. They're the only two capes classified as mage tank armor in the game.

As a high tier HCIM I consider this armor to be one of my favorite additions. The slightly faster kill times at bosses means nothing to me compared to the safety and security the armor provides. With only 3 pieces I can now no food Araxor up to 140% fish with little to no effort and I'm not good at pvm. As much as most of the game is given from the prospective of main accounts it is important to note how amazing this was for us hcim. A safe boss drops end game crazy defense armor..... I love it! Only other thing I would note is idk if the # 3 set effect bonus with using earth spells doubles ALL damage reducing bonus the armor provides or just doubles the #3 set reductions. But IDK.

I think its worth it tbh. Its perfect for learning mechanics since you dont have to worry if you mess up at higher end bossing. I started doing solo hm kerapac with a mammoth and cryptbloom and now switched to a ripper demon and cinderbanes. Which has helped with kill times.

I personally feel like 2-3 pieces will be plenty good for most situations outside of base tanking where applicable. Starting by equipping boots, helm, and gloves, maintain Animate Dead, then deal damage with Shadow Blitz until you're comfortable enough to swap gloves for Cinderbanes and use whichever spells fit best for the boss.

Animate dead *heavily* jumps up every tank piece (why a tank cape and shield/rebounder can still have good effect), not only getting you too the 75% cap. But its a dynamic cap, so the highee the hit, the more tank armor you need to keep the spell doing good reductions. For example. Getting just too 75% on hits ranging in 500 damage, means a hit by a 800 attack is now only 50-60% reducted. And it drops off quick. Over armoring can make you get into that 70% on 800 hits. And thuse 900 or 1000 hits are 50% reduced, etc. And this is just the spell, not factoring anything else like crypts effects. I think this is where legacy shines so much. You can very likely make it so blood magic will always heal more then a most bosses can even hit hahaha.

I grabbed a set and slapped bis perks on it this morning. Been pushing enrage at Telos and haven't made any progress towards Acto.. it makes p4 and p5 soooo much easier, didn't really notice much difference on kill times even with the full set since p4 and 5 went so much smoother. I'm super happy with it 🔥

The pvp one is actually stronger than you think, white portal doesnt have pvp rules active so some items and armours dont really work the way they should (armour doesnt give the passive damage reduction from pvp hits in white portal so you always taking full damage)

earth spells do not double the entire amount, it only doubles the 3-piece set effect. So instead of 18% magic reduction, it is 24% reduction, not 36%.

The damage reduction 3pc is the only thing that gets doubled by using earth spells, in total its 24% magic and 18% melee reduction not 36/24....even the wiki states this. Also you can use this at yaka as long as you stand in MD so he hits you with magic.

Only the set bonus for the third piece gets doubled when you use earth spells. So 12/8 for two, 18/12 for three, 24/16 three pieces with earth spells. On the other hand, you forgot things like emerald aurora that can make the damage reduction higher. I think it's at its best when using two pieces and three pieces of achto robes, or three pieces and cinderbanes+blast diffusion. Also, should have definitely tried out hm Kerapac with this, absolute breeze although kill time can be a bit slow.

small thing: using earth spell only doubles the ewffect of the 3 piece set, not the full dmg reduction like you said, its a pretty big difference. without earth spells its 18/12. with earth spells its 24/16. not something ridiculous like 36/24 like you said

Umm it is 100% worth if you set up your bar correctly I am getting 1:00 fully afk kills times at all gwd2 (except Greg haven’t tried it) using a legendary pet to pick up loot. I have almost made half my money back in a couple of days.

can afk p1-3 kerapac hm solo with it, and p4 is a breeze. can afk orikalka, can camp soulsplit up to 1k enrage telos dont have to pray,. thats usiong 3 pieces only, anything above 3 is useless

@@Nosferazool I am using dual seismics gconc channelers ring and a legendary pet to pick up loot. You could get faster with a deathtouch bracelet, and ripper but I’m too lazy as for the bar it’s gconc, dbreath, c blast, sunshine, asphyxiate, wild magic, tendrils, deep impact, chain, sacrifice. I know temdrils is bad but I found it makes it so sunshine will get activated as the fourth ability and end the kill with 80-90 adren

you don't need to sell your bank to use this armour. Buy seasingers/ganodermic and with animate dead you will get a similar experinence, just a little less effective. make money that way for this. weapons and other upgrades should always be a choice over armour

At raksha dps is more important, this might help you but it will prolong the fight, perhaps making it harder. Raksha hits so hard when you mess up that cryptbloom and animate dead will not be the dealbreaker for you to get your kill.

You don’t use magic at all for nex solo for one simple reason- her minions are immune to magic attacks! Also magic tends to splash a lot with Nex, and is not nearly as good with Nex as range, especially bak bolts.

I don’t think it’s worth it. T75 weapon is trash now (most decent bosses really need T80+), and its spec would waste adrenaline (as Protoxx mentioned) which would be better off used with threshold abilities, or even guthix staff spec.

@@Darknimbus3 OP said it would be in an EoF, so you could still use t90+ weapons. The spec is pretty nice at BM for the base tank because it doesn't count as a defensive ability, so BM can't clear it and put it on cooldown. Most likely not worth elsewhere tho.

i can solo kill kera hm with 3 pieces of crypt with ripper demon and maniacal aura and only use a couple brews per kill. i end up matching my range dps. got a 9 :00 kill so far. i would say thats beter then range if you are not a pvm god

I soul split the entirety of ED2 using animate dead + exsanguinate using 4 pieces of crypt. ED3 boss 1 is SS anyways, boss 2 as said in video. Armor effect doesn't make a difference at Ambassador as he hits with range (which is why we use AD). Honestly ED1 is basically the same as ED2 if you know mechanics.

But why? Other combat styles are pretty op compared to magic. Melee has the most OP *power* armor that has a similar effect of damage reduction (10% reduction for three pieces I believe and 50% reduction for all 5 pieces, with the caveat of the rest of the damage being bleeds, which honestly is really nothing). Ranged is probably the #1 combat style, with the motto of “the best defense is a great offense”.
