I originally tried it because I joined a bowling team called the Malort Stars. It tastes like grapefruit flavored gin. It’s now my go to shot. Holy sh*t, commenting as I watch, he’s the first person ever to agree describe it the same way. Smart man!!

It sounds like it tastes kind of like ouzo, I can see why Malort was a hit in Chicago - ot was probably used medicinally in the cold winters than a reaeration drink.

I was at a bar the other day and these two random guys were taking malort shots and they said " hey this tastes like shit do you want one?" So i said " yes". I took the shot and cried and they said" yeah it doesnt get better". So we did two more shots. It tastes like if you ground up a mummy mixed it with gin.

I work as a distiller, and the few times I've tried Malort , it tastes like it wasn't cut properly. It's basically a barrel aged gin, like Aquavit. The manufacturing process is dirty.
