A lot of the faces in those tutorials were not proportional 😅. If you like I can explain how I draw proportional faces! And many artists start off by drawing realism first, so when they start stylizing their art they know where all the proportions are and know which ones they can change (for example making the hair more simple or making the eyes bigger). I find it really useful to practice realism a little every once in a while because it will help you learn the anatomy better and help you find your style of art faster without being restricted by your drawing skills!

A few tips I found while doing research about art: • The space between the hairline (where the hair starts), the eyebrows, the nose and the chin is the same. Basically the face is divided in thirds. • The ears are in the middle third, they are perfectly between the eyebrows and the nose. • The palm of the hand and the fingers are the same lenght. • For drawing hands it's useful to group fingers together. You can also leave one finger out, like the pinkie or the index finger. • The little finger is the littlest finger while the middle finger is the longest. The index and the ring finger are roughly the same size. • The crotch divides the body in the upper half (head to crotch) and the lower half (crotch to feet) • The upper half can be divided in thirds. Head to clavicles (really important bones that are part of the neck, they are easily visible, super useful for drawing thing correctly), clavicles to end of the ribcage (basically the ribcage takes a third of the upper half) and end of ribcage to crotch. I just wanted to share a bit of my knowledge on proportions and such, since I am an artist myself and I know how hard it is at times to research about anatomy. But I also really encourage you to look up anatomy and proportions on KZbin, you'll find a ton of helpful videos. A few helpful artist you might want to check out: • Proko (tons of stuff about anatomy) • Marc Brunet (proportions but also more general art stuff) • Ethan Becker (he's constantly joking, has great videos about how to learn from different artists along with stuff to get you into actual jobs correlated to art and animation) • Samdoesart (not really about anatomy but great videos about art in general) This is obviously not a complete list also I apologize for any mistranslation as english is not my fist language.

There are some things you need to learn before investing all your time in drawing people. It is understanding the 3d space itself. First of all, you have to learn drawing cubes, cylindres, spheres and cones and how they behave in perspective. Perspective is very important in general. Next, learn how to shade these shapes. These two steps will allow you to break down any object (photo) into simple 3d forms and understand what is it that you’re really drawing. After acquiring this skill, you will be able to locate where to put a line, as you will know how the shape is supposed to look. With that you could finally start doing gesture and later figure drawings. I find one of the best resources for learning art to be Marc Brunet’s channel.

For anatomy, I will recomend u a book by Sandis Kondrats and Uldis Zarins "Anatomy for Sculptors, Understanding the Human Figure". Some of these tips u watch is "from middle begginers to begginers" and they are not always right. It is better to learn from proffesionals and irl references (btw, photos are not always good for that). Also for anatomy - draw bones first, cause some of them are rly visible, like face is pretty much is a skull

PS: what did your friends and family said when you told them one of your videos had so many views? haha that had to be fun.

Omg, thank you so much for supporting me) You’re one of those who witnessed that blow up from the very beginning and it makes me so happy) Sounds so good, I think your approach is much better as you’re not in a rush and learn everything gradually) PS: omg, some of them were shocked 😂 firstly, because they didn’t believe someone they know could gain so many views on KZbin and secondly, because it was a drawing video 😂 I don’t draw usually and my challenge was just an experiment, so they’re happy for me)

@@humahumsta The crazy thing is I remember you had uploaded that video like a month before I found it and I was like this is such a good motivational video so I liked and subscribed on my two accounts haha. Then every time I would watch it usually after I had a bad drawing day I saw more and more views, so shocking but very happy for you 😁. I decided to learn how to draw faces first and learn how to shade with that, drawing hands and feet is so hard lol, so once I feel confident drawing faces and all its features I'll start learning anatomy, one step at a time. I would be super shocked as well if anyone I know had a video go viral on KZbin haha, very cool. I followed you on your Instagram and saw you're a really amazing dancer, seems you're very hard working at many things. Looking forward to your next video, keep it up.

You should prioritise learning to draw confident lines so that you arent second guessing yourself or wasting time building a single line with multiple tiny scratches (chicken scratches). You can do this by learning to do timed observational gesture drawings where you are given 60 seconds to record as much key information as you can, theres plenty of guides explaining it and plenty of web pages that has resource images. The idea is not to "copy" what you see but record key aspects like proportions, flow of action and poses, it will build up speed and confidence and don't worry if it doesn't look exactly like the image.

I absolutely love people that are confident in their art, as saying your own art is bad, it breaks down your mind and eats at the way you think of it. Your art will never satisfy you if you aren’t confident. Being confident takes a lot of practice and is easier said than done. But try your hardest and you will start to see how it changes the way you think about your own creation. Your art doesn’t always have to satisfy you and it will not always satisfy you!! Now this goes for anything, not just art. If you are feeling bad about your art, try redrawing things you have made and didn’t like! The more you draw the same thing, it will start to look different. Keep and going! You are so strong and I know you can do it! Your art is always beautiful in its own way. Once you start to fill up sketchbooks you can look back and see how good you have gotten. No matter how hard it is, keep on trying. You won’t get better over night, it takes time. You got this!

I'm not the greatest at art myself but, if it helps, when drawing faces for the eyes, they always start where the ear start and they're always one eye apart from each other if that makes sense. And too make sure a normal cranium it's good to leave some space in the first circle you draw for the head. It'll help Invision how big the head should be

I know I'm late but you asked for a better way to record when you draw, so here is like I do it: just record upside down! What I mean is, put the lamp and the phone in front of you, and when it records, it will record upside down (you will edit it later), instead of putting the lamp and phone where you head should be! This way you not only will have a more comfortable way for drawing while recording, but you will also have a recording without shadows of yourself on the paper, and the drawing will have an even perspective on camera. I hope I explained myself and you understood, if you didn't, feel free to contact me under this comment, so we will exchange IG profiles and I will send you a photo of what I mean. Keep up the great work!

I have advice for you. When you draw the face, draw a circle and this circle will be the skull. Then draw (+) but make it big, then draw the head and don't erase the circle, then draw the location of the eye, nose and mouth + when drawing the eye, draw (=) to determine the location of the eye so that the eyes are equal, but when you draw (=) put it under the skull or the circle you drew from the beginning + I am very sorry that I do not know English, so I use translation to convey information, so there are a lot of errors in spelling
