you need to drop the subframe to remove the oil pan on these cars, thats why most people drill and tap. greasing the flutes on the drill bit catches any shavings and draining the old oil and flushing with mineral spirits will remove any shavings that entered the pan, even if there is some shavings left the oil pickup wouldnt be able to suck it up anyways.

If a turbo kit needs you to cut a massive hole in the cara chassis, especially a MX-5 kit then the kit was designed wrong. Theres literally like 30 kits that doesn't require you to cut up your carsmain body. Apart from that loving the progress

Y didnt they just clock the compressor housing instead of drilling such an awkward hole. Ive never worked on miatas specifically but do build cars and have never seen someone need to drill a hole like that to mount a turbo kit. am i missing something ? edit: I looked it up and apparently thats how its supposed to be mounted. As i said im not a Miata guy but the charge pipe plumbing just looks weird to me.

It’s so good, everything is ridiculously nice for the money. A bit of trial and error with installation but I think that was more my fault and hopefully this video helps lol.

@@captaincrankshaft it sure does! I got the ISR circuit spec and felt the same which has lead me to the them. One last Question, how bad was drilling the oil pan. And also tuning for me sucked so I adjusted my throttle body at idle so now it idles at 800 but is super smooth. Also turn off any delay on AC idle up

U didnt do blow off? got early NB(oficially started'99 i got 03.98), but i dont have frame cutted, and much shorter way to IC -> less turbolag. Clutch should handle ~180HP, with 5gearbox(200 but many do 240hp). 6gearbox over400. In my country turboing miata is 15k pln which is less than 4k usd. Injectors i got is yellow from rx8, about 80usd/unit.
