I think in random battles people naturally call things like crits and misses "luck", and complain about it. But they somehow chalk up team composition and countering the opponent's mons as "legitimate", when that's also just luck.

The line between skill and luck in Pokemon is very thin, specially in random battles where obviously things are ridden much more by luck than normal battles, but even so you can't complain about crits and misses when you know full well that that's how the game works and you agree on it by playing it

tis is why i like watching random battles, but could NEVER play the ladder i’m not trying to diminish skilled play here, but the amount of actual luck that determines outcomes in randoms is frustratingly insane. to team comps (decided at team preview), to crits, to missed, to flinches, sleep, pars, speed ties, etc. freezai alone plays insanely (most of the time), and then just gets FUCKED with blind luck

I think that turn one Bug Buzz is almost always better to go for over Sticky Webs because of the intimidate. Mimikyu didn’t threaten you at all so it would have been better value to just break its disguise. A switch to Magic Bounce or a rapid spinner also gets punished by it plus the SpDef drop chance

I hate when people complain about luck as if it’s not a core mechanic lmfao. Accuracy is luck. Type matchups are luck. The set you get is luck. Everything except what u click is luck. So luck then leave = play the game 😭

I feel like you need to be more agressive with your tera in some of those games. If you are losing trying some crazy shit is better than save it to try to sweep later, as if you dont recoup the advantage you will not get to a dominant position. The match ups in this video were extremely though and it would be hard for anyone to win, bit you should at least consider trading your tera for 1 mon and a half in those situations.

chesnaught is grass type, immune to spore. It was poisoned by toxic spike as a grass type before terrastelizing into a stell type. So it was never possible to spore it

after watching a bunch of these, i can say fs that the reason u haven’t hit #1 yet is you’re not considering the statistics of move accuracy enough. you’re outplaying your opponents often enough, but you usually seem surprised when a 90 accuracy move misses. best to avoid tactics that rely on those moves hitting unless u need to. basically, you play better from behind than ahead bc from behind you actually *need* those moves to hit. but from ahead, you’ll have better odds if you don’t let a miss cost u the game

It's not like you can build the moveset by yourself. Sometimes you have to rely on accuracy in randbats.

Unfortunately, it's not as simple as that. Sometimes you need to be more immediately threatening. For example, let's say your *X* 3HKOs your opponent's *Y* 100% of the time, but your *Z* has a 90% chance to OHKO Y. First of all, going for the 3HKO with X gives them more opportunities to attack (including the turn you switch X in), which is a net loss. But things can get worse if Y has a setup move. Now all of a sudden, not even Z can stop the threat.
