Very educational and without noticing you gave another tip; Da Vinci resolve. I recently bought a rode mic that I intend to use with my iPhone so I’ m about to figure out how to sync the audio and the video in resolve. Your system is very creative but you are still using the mic of your camera and that does not win a price. However, we do hear you very clear and since I’ve become an addict of your channel I can only say that the audio in your video’ s is fine.

Thanks. Lots of great tutorials online to sync in DR. You'll see what I mean when I say it's a pain if you have several clips.

I appreciate the info on wireless mic setups. I've slowly upgraded over the past 3 years from the Oly E-M10 to the E-M10 II and now the E-M5 II. I still have and use the older cameras. However, right now I'm tied to a wire setup with my E-M5 II. A wireless setup would me nice and your info will help with that decision. Thanks for posting.
@RobTrek6 жыл бұрын
Almost got the e-m5 ii for vlogging earlier this year. It's about perfect and is the best choice in the Olympus line. The azden is great. I'm gonna do a video on that system, but Curtis Judd did a great video on it already. He's the main reason I bought this setup.
@Woodenarrows5 жыл бұрын
So your wireless lav/transmitter is sending your voice to the wireless receiver which in turn is driving the Bluetooth speaker which simply sends the sound output through the air to your camera's external microphones???
@RobTrek5 жыл бұрын
Yes, that's the idea.
@beejaybertelsen6 жыл бұрын
I don't understand how the sound can come into the camera from the bluetooth speaker. I have a pen F. Would your idea work with that camera?

Are you recording the sound from the bluetooth speaker with the built in microphone?
@RobTrek6 жыл бұрын
Yes, I'm recording the sound from the bluetooth speaker playing directly into the on camera mics.

I needed some audio beyond the internal mic of the E-M10.2. I saw the Zoom H1n elsewhere then you had it so I got one. I have simple needs so I think it's going to work out. Thanks for the video.
@RobTrek5 жыл бұрын
The Zoom H1n is a great little mic. Haven't used it much since getting a pen style mic from Olympus.
@MorganScott823 жыл бұрын
You didn't really explain how this works. If I understand correctly the lav mic pics up your voice, transmits it to the receiver, which plays back that sound over the bluetooth, which is then picked up by the on camera mic, have I got that correct?
@RobTrek3 жыл бұрын
Yes. But to be clear, the receiver's 3.5mm line out is plugged into a bluetooth speaker's 3.5mm jack. No bluetooth signal is used.

Hello from New York City! Please help me understand, which device is actually doing audio recording? Most Bluetooth speakers do not record from an AUX cable input or does your have a special feature? Thank you for your informative video.
@RobTrek Жыл бұрын
The speaker is on top of the camera microphones. So the camera mics are recording with the video.
@PuchoWebSolutions Жыл бұрын
Got it. The recorded voice is being amplified by the Bluetooth speaker which is mounted above the camera's built in microphone resulting in better sound. Thank you. @@RobTrek

Hello Rob...Great idea...! Works well when you are away from camera mic. Up close: Try to find "radio-earphones" with line in for mp3 player. Workers and hunters use them...with a dampening cup. Selective sound proofing and amplification.
@RobTrek6 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I tried a couple of headphone ideas, but they just don't generate enough sound and are a bit clumsy to mount for vlogging.
@jakobhovman6 жыл бұрын
"Course" you did...had to mention them. Another idea: A Piezzo-electric speaker is flat and robust. Maybe you can find one mounted, that has good enough frequency. Used in Marine gear. Ps: equally good as mic and speaker.

That is a great idea!

Very clever setup, particularly the idea of Bluetooth speaker. Your voice was very crisp and clear when been walking and away from the camera. Though not so studio quality when recording from so close to the camera. Nevertheless it indeed worked and better than having to deal with offline voice recorder.

Thanks for your support.... We are using Sony hdr sr1 model with Ahuja external powered microphone, our Sony camcorder has external and inbuild mic options ,so we are using external mic to record our lectures, it's wireless... But it brings air noice..kindly help me to record videos with clear sound quality.
@RobTrek4 жыл бұрын
I'd really have to see the entire setup and space to help you reduce noise. I'm not familiar with the gear you are using. If you're getting noise on a wireless mic, you'll probably need to switch to a digital wireless and then add some noise reduction in post processing. Two good budget options are the rode wireless go and comica boom xd. I use both and they are fine. There are much more expensive mic systems that will improve the sound quality you might want to consider.

I have it for mine - and it works flawlessly. I tried Boya before and had sometimes audio clicks or hiccups. Hate that... - also the battery life of the rode is better and you have battery indicator so no surprises there.

Is the audio straight from the camera completely unusable in a vlogging scenario when you're not that far from the internal mic?

Hi. I'm working on another test for audio. If the area is pretty quite or indoors, then you can use the internal mics. Thanks for your question.

So why don't external mikes standardise with HDMI plugs instead of 3.5mm jacks? That would solve it all very simply and cheaply and make mike jacks redundant
@RobTrek6 жыл бұрын
That would make too much sense. I do have another idea that I'm testing similar to what you suggested. I don't think hdmi has a bi-directional data path, it's either in or out, but I don't know that for a fact.

Thanks. Yeah, external recorder with lav mic. I used to use a $30 sony voice recorder from Walmart. It worked great.
@knoblitroch14336 жыл бұрын
Very bad idea. It sounds like you're in a box. It sounded way better when you were walking away from the camera. This is because when you're standing close to the camera mic so that it can pick up your voice directly it also gets the audio from your bluetooth speaker with a really short delay. Audio across a wireless mic into a speaker into the cam mic cannot be as fast as directly from your mouth to the cam mic.
@RobTrek6 жыл бұрын
Yes, I noticed that too. The latency is 14ms on the proxd. The latency on the rode kit is only 4ms. In another test, not in this video, I put some tape over the mics and it cut the slight echo out pretty well. I'm gonna keep trying to make this work. Thanks for the feedback!
