I love Ricky Nelson's voice and this is a much more traditional country style version like Roy's. It's a good example of how Presley invented a whole new sound by combining this and the Eagle's versions then injecting his own energy into it to create a whole new style of music.

Yeah I only ever had heard the 68 comeback special version of this which I always liked too but Ricky has a more gentle way about his music usually. Not sure he is any more sincere than Elvis though. You get teenagers singing about mature emotions and it's hard for them to convey something they have never experienced yet.

Huge Elvis fan here….I often wonder if Elvis was concerned about Ricky Nelson “taking over” while he was in Germany? I though Ricky was very handsome, with a great voice, but one thing he didn’t come close to Elvis with was the energy and charisma.

This song means so very to me because it brings back memories of so very long ago. It would be great if we could talk about our lives and how differently it turned out for the best I suppose only the Big Man above is the true one who knows and makes this and every decision we have to make. But the truth is he is the creator who knows everything that's really going to happen to everyone one of us. So really if it's God's plan for me to have some one else to love then he will make it happen even for me if it's his will. Because he rules everything Always Will. I admitted I am no angel and we all make mistakes. That makes us normal. Don't you think so too. See I went to church a lot in my life and I Guess Maybe that's what always kept me straight as I am Because I do Believe in God and I have always cared abouteveryone always usually. No matter what happened I never lost my faith and I always believed in people no matter what because I believe every one is burned with good in them and it's sometimes just takes a little longer than other's that's all. So if it's God's will I am going to quit looking and if it's ment to happen then it will and it will be good for me he will make a way for me to be happy again very loved by someone who will appreciate me and find me him self when the time is right until then I will wait and if and when it happens it will happen again.

I'm not a huge Elvis fan except for his early stuff...and I admit that I don't know when he did this song...but his version is MUCH better! I'm saying that and I like Ricky more than him!

Leeann Boone I don’t like comparing. Elvis’s is a better vocal performance by far, reaching incredible levels of strength for the production value he had. This one is well produced, had good instrumentation, and of course is a much softer tone. It’s really up to preference
