You are so right about that. I remember when I would read in my college classes out loud and I struggled to read and comprehend. I feel like it was more of an issue of performance and focusing so much on my reading performance as opposed to what I was reading

I agree she's great at reading aloud, but she definitely strings info together with some assumptions at times which leads away from some main points or get convoluted. She's my favorite reddit story podcaster, so I hope her success continues, because I've definitely noticed improvements along the way!

Being single at any age is normal! A romantic relationship shouldn't be the end all, be all of life. Nor should approval from the opposite sex (or whatever sex/gender one is attracted to) I'm not saying people can't want a relationship, I just wish people knew they are already complete on their own too 💜

I've told a guy immediately that I have a boyfriend when he wouldn't stop hitting on me. His response? "He's probably not as good looking. You can leave him for me." I got my friends to help him back off, we did some IG sleuthing and HE HAD A GIRLFRIEND. So yeah, sometimes using a relationship doesn't help when it comes to some people.

Certified lactation professional here- no you don’t have to pump and dump! Unless you’re so drunk you can’t take care of your baby, no actual need to waste the milk! The percentage that goes into the milk is soooooooooo small in comparison to what goes into mom. Recommendations for waiting two hours is to wait for it to entirely leave the milk which isn’t necessary due to the small amount. Still, consume responsibly and make sure you can take care of your little one ❤️
@TwoHotTakes

What’s so unfortunate is that most pediatricians aren’t given lactation education, so it’s up to us who are certified to give the info! I’m glad I could help and share. Love you and all you do 🫶🏼 edited to add: I know you know how to do research from getting your doctorate and being an OT (I have a son with autism and our OT has been such a lifesaver)- just saying most people don’t know and rely on the little info that is out!

STORY 6 - Former SW here. Myself and plenty of my coworkers have genuinely fallen in love with clients. I dated one for 7 years. Realistically heres a breakdown of how common this is in SW: - 98% of customers get fake compliments like "you're hot" etc - 30% of customers get told "I love you" but we don't mean it - 15 % of customers are genuinely attractive to SW, and we would date them had we met another way - 1-2% of customers we would potentially actually date because we like them, but we rarely voice that we'd be willing to date them for free. We may genuinely fall in love with them, if the topic is approached tastefully and we no longer exchange our time/services for money. So yes. There's a 1-2% chance she actually loves him. My guess is she THINKS she loves him as a coping mechanism. It's easier to convince yourself you love someone if you feel financially forced to have sex with them for years. She's had so many abusive relationships that this guy, who treats her well, seems like love. But in reality they don't really know each other authenticly. It may be the closest thing to love she's ever had - but it's not a healthy dynamic and it's not actually love. It could become real love one day, but it's not real when he's still paying for her time.
@alexandraro901
@alexandraro901 7 ай бұрын
Also I feel like he doesn‘t treat her all that well to be honest… He knows she doesn‘t really want to be a SW, yet he continues to be her client. Essentially he is sleeping with her, even though he knows she doesn‘t want to sleep with him (in these circumstances). I feel like the takes were really off on this one and didn‘t consider her traumatic past at all.
@ManifestBest
@ManifestBest 7 ай бұрын
@alexandraro901 it's such a tricky thing. Because you're right. But also if he stops hiring her, she loses 70% of her income and either becomes homeless or is forced to find new clients who may not be as safe. Ideally he'd just pay for her time and not do anything physical. Just hang out and go on dates. And if he REALLY loved her I do believe that's the right option. But it sounds like he wants to get his rocks off too. But even then, he's still paying for her time so neither can be their authentic selves. Perhaps the best solution is to help her find a new job and THEN ask her on a real date. But it's honestly so hard to find a job with so few hours that pays as much as SW. Which is why transitioning is such a challenge. I did it by starting my own online business. But sometimes I work 16 hour days and sometimes I don't make ends meet. There's just not a simple solution tbh
@alexandraro901
@alexandraro901 7 ай бұрын
There really isn‘t! Though I just read more comments from OP on the original post and I understand the takes a lot better. Apparently she lies to him, has another regular she wants to keep seeing and doesn‘t want to commit to a real relationship with him, even though she says she loves him.

Story #3 ummm NTA…her friend expecting people to *fly* for a baby shower?!?! That’s nuts. Most people don’t even want to fly for destination weddings…but a baby shower? Give me a break. TSA isn’t worth it. Send a gift off the registry and call it a day baby!
@layladavis02

Exactly I’m not even married or with any kids. But I know when that day comes I’m not expecting anything from anyone for my life goals being met. Only person that needs to be there is the father/husband. Everyone else I’ll be happy to join us but you can’t expect someone to put your day above their life. My own best friend. Even though I do expect her to be there. If she couldn’t for whatever reason I’ll understand especially if the have to FLY. Like huh?

Story 2- telling a crazy creep that you have a partner doesn’t always make a difference. Example: I was at a club a few years ago, and a guy asked me if I wanted to dance. I was already dancing with a girlfriend, and said “I’m good.😊Thanks though!” He didn’t speak good English but essentially says “you’re already dancing, so just dance with me instead!” I politely respond “I have a boyfriend and am trying to have a girls night. You have a good night though!” And rather than accept it and leave me alone…the dude PUNCHED ME IN THE FUCKING FACE!!! 😬 I went down, and security was on top of him before I even hit the ground. Whenever I think about that night I pray that psychopath is behind bars.

Seriously. He sounds selfish and controlling. Especially because she was literally doing what he already wanted her to do - not telling him about it (which is crappy to begin with, she should be able to express herself to him) - but got mad at her for following the standard HE set. Changing the goal posts like that and punishing your partner for situations out of their control is a red flag for possible abuse. It's really shitty for dudes to make our discomfort with men not taking no for an answer about them and their insecurity. Sorry, us having to feel unsafe in public is more important than them worrying about how desirable their girlfriend is. If OP's boyfriend isn't able to work his issues out in therapy and stop trying to control how she reacts to being harassed, she should break up with him.

Yeah my boyfriend is a very jealous type in the most healthy way it could be. What I’m meaning is he’ll get jealous, but never blame it on me or make me feel bad for it. A guy can simply compliment him for having a pretty girlfriend and he’ll get mad at him for making the comment. He’ll encourage me to dress up nice and if I get another guy’s attention he’ll never be upset with me. He’ll jokingly say how he hates how attractive I am. But I feel if you are a jealous type you shouldn’t make it your partners issue. Unless your partner it’s trying to make you jealous then leave them. If I were to tell him a guy flirted with me or is bothering me. Hell either handle it and make sure he stops or just roll his eyes with me at gross men.

Rude right?😂 Chris Klemens was serving looks to me it was giving cunty priest, loved it. It seems like he genuinely enjoys making people laugh. Justin has a very calming demeanor. Pretty sure an insecure guy would take issue with however the situation went tho. It must be annoying having to politely reject guys 3-5 times a night out, every time. It’s the price he pays for having a gorgeous partner, why not swoop in from time to time and give her a break from fighting them off. Don’t make it her problem, she’s used to it & if he can’t do much to help, he should get used to it to. Is it not a compliment to be with someone who can get anyone, but choses you? Maybe he should aim lower if he can’t hack it?

Morgan has to stop recommending coconut oil as lube, at least without warning people about the possible negative effects 😭 it degrades condoms so it should absolutely not be used with them, and can mess with your pH balance, increasing the chance of yeast infections. And if you still choose to use it, you should REALLY do a patch test before using it as a lube to make sure it doesn't give you an allergic reaction. Recommending it without mentioning any of this can literally put people in danger (of unwanted pregnancy, STIs, allergic reactions, and infections) and I really wish that Morgan realized that as someone who studied medicine.

Also, she recommend it for use on teeth and gums and then when pressed on it says that it’s actually super good for you and even helps whiten your teeth. Meanwhile the American Dental Association does not recommend using coconut oil for oral health, no studies confirm its teeth whitening benefits, and there is no scientific evidence that it helps treat other oral diseases.

I think the problem here is, ok, she got mad, he may have been wrong for not saying anything for a few days (although he didn't know she lost it so, for me that's understandable), however, she apparently said some very hurtful things and behaved in a terrible way towards OP that could be extremely disrespectful...and if she never behaved like that before and suddenly let it lose like that...that's a super big red flag... Also, demanding for the real one after saying so many terrible things to someone when he just told you to leave? M'am, absolutely not. That's a giiiiant red flag right there. OP dodged a bullet.
@layladavis02
@layladavis02 7 ай бұрын
Well to be fair with how she reacted. If he did tell her right away, I feel she would’ve be like “do you really not trust me?” And demand the real one right then. I don’t think she’s rational enough for there ever to be a solution besides let her loose the real ring because of her own terrible actions. I mean if she felt she was being tested she had the right to be upset. But not act the way she did. Plus I feel if someone purposely does something because of a repetitive negative issue you have. You need to be mature and realize they were responsible and you’re the issue. If my parent feels they have to give me a fake ring because they know I’ll loose it. And then I DO loose it. That should be a time to reflect on myself and my poor decision making.

@@adeleinnichols yeah but he didn’t necessarily have to. There really is no reason for him to have to say that it’s a fake, but there is every reason for her to come forward and say that she had lost it. At the end of the day, it should be something that she reflects on by herself when she realised that she did, in fact, lose the ring. Plot twist, though, I heard from a comment that there’s an update, apparently. she actually didn’t lose it, but she had it appraised and realised it wasn’t worth a lot so she “ lost it “ to confront him

With story #3, a lot of married / coupled up / expecting people get new jobs, move apartments, etc all the time. We don’t celebrate those achievements with a big party and gifts for anyone, regardless of what else is in their life. I get that it’s frustrating for people who don’t have those goals or things in their lives, but why not host a house warming party or celebratory dinner where you pay for everyone’s dinner and they’re expected to bring a gift? I already owned my own home when I met my best friend but when she bought her own home I got her a house warming gift. I will never get a house warming gift in return, but does it matter? When I have a baby shower she will probably get me something too, but who cares if she didn’t. I’m all for embracing different lifestyles and goals, but if we started celebrating new jobs the way we celebrate weddings we’d have to be having those parties for married people too, right? 😅

I feel like if you are at a point where you are going tit for tat with a friend and don’t even enjoy talking to them then why continue the friendship? Life doesn’t stay the same. Circumstances change, priorities change, interests change. Sometimes you outgrow people and sometimes you just fade away from each other because your life changes. Not everyone is a lifelong friend best friend that is in it for everything. Sometimes it was just for a season and that is fine. It is bittersweet but that is life. That being said. They don’t seem like good friends bc they were taking her for granted and only cared about her as far as she was doting on them. It doesn’t seem like the relationship is worth it anymore.

I was looking for this comment. You will get your time for these sorts of things if you want it, and if you don't, do a big birthday party or something. I can see celebrating a dream job, but I'm going to bring wine, not a $100+ gift. The milestones like weddings and babies are really expensive for the couple who is being celebrated so it is a way to help them out on their journey. I've also had people attend things and not bring gifts and it really isn't a big deal.

Here's the thing with the last one. I don't think he's the AH AT ALL for having a place holder ring, BUT he never told her it was a place holder ring. Which doesn't excuse what she said or how she reacted at all. But the reason she didn't tell him sooner about the first ring breaking is because in her mind she DID break/lose the $17K ring and didn't want to upset him (which her allowing an "expensive ring" to break/get lost in the first place is a different story all together). I personally think he should've told her at the proposal "Hey, just so you're aware this is just a place holder ring so that you can have fun at Coachella without worrying about wrecking or losing the ring. So there is a real one back home." Because as Heath mentioned, he bought it with the intention of her having fun and blah blah blah, but how was she to know that? I personally think this was also a weird test on his end. I mean he stated he knew she was clumsy and loses things all the time, and actually anticipated her on losing it, so got her a place holder to not loss the main one, but doesn't actually tell her about that fact? I think he wanted to see if she WOULD tell him about the ring before him having to bring up the real one. Edit: Basically the summary of my comment is, I just don't understand why he would keep the information that it's a fake ring to himself, until she specifically asked.
