The psycho from Story 7: "just because I don't have an overpriced piece of paper doesn't mean I'm not a pilot." Sir, it quite literally does mean that. That's probably exactly what those wannabe nurses who bought fraudulent degrees in Florida told themselves too. They found out that the expensive piece of paper is, in fact, a crucial ingredient in what makes a nurse.

OMG, the “I am a PILOT” one. This guy said it himself, first of all. He’s incredibly insecure…. Period. The sentence doesn’t need to be completed. He’s insecure. If he’s embarrassed about his job, then change it. Go get the job you want. Open your own restaurant. A HOBBY is not the same as being the actual profession. I have friends who are actual pilots, and the amount of time, hours, and money they had to put into flight school is crazy. Now, you’re wife I’m assuming supports the household more than you do and she’s gotten a second job for you…. I’ll call it, you’re a narcissist. That’s what narcissists do. They embellish themselves so others think better of them, and they put people they’re supposed to love to the extremes for them. Yes, YATAH.

Our one elderly cat struggles due to arthritis. I use a towel for her sleep on (easier to wash), and the vet recommended pet wet wipes (I researched and found Glandex Rear-End Pet Wipes) or a specialty cleansing foam with a paper towel. Love that you are promoting colonoscopy awareness! I had one when I was 30 (f) and they removed two huge polyps. The doctor said they were bigger than what he removes from 70 yr old men. He also said that if I hadn't had a very proactive primary insisting I have a colonoscopy that the polyps would have more than likely been severe cancer by the time a normal colonoscopy was done. He didn't even want to do the procedure but called my primary and she insisted. Thank goodness for my doc being amazing! Unfortunately insurance didn't cover the procedure because I was too young for it to be considered routine and then after they found an issue it still wasn't covered. Crazy.

For the record, never let age make you think you can't get cancer. My being 25 at the time was the main reason why I got misdiagnosed by two doctors before a CT scan showed I had a giant fucking tumor on my ovary, and it was only after surgery they could definitely say that I'd had cancer. Don't let it being "rare" stop you from getting something checked out because being young doesn't protect you from getting sick. My oncologist actually made me get an endoscopy & colonoscopy just to make sure there wasn't anything screwing with my bowels either. Thankfully that came back clear but yeah, keep up to date with checkups and be vigilant at every age when it comes to cancer bc I don't wish that shit on anyone.

The pilot story- what exactly was his plan once he was asked follow up questions? Such as oh are you an airline pilot? For what airline? Because explaining you’re a pilot because you do sims is much more embarrassing than just saying you’re a restaurant manager Also the wife clearly is not embarrassed by him being a restaurant manager, rightfully so, and is very supportive so no she shouldn’t lie to people and say that he’s a pilot just because he’s insecure

I work at a flight training school. This last guy! Pilots pay $100k+ to learn how to fly. Using a sim/video game DOES NOT make you a pilot. This guy! Wtf. Can you imagine getting in a plane and finding out the pilot thinks he can fly your plane because he played some video games.... fuck no.
@sueaceves2398 Жыл бұрын
Agreed! I'm a student pilot working on my private pilot's license the audacity of this man. Claiming to be a pilot when he has only used a sim like wtf!! If he wants to be a pilot he should go to a flight school.

I worked at an aviation camp and the last guy scares me. There is more to being a pilot than learning and doing the simulators. My friends at work were aviation majors and told me they do an extensive background check on you, which is like the hardest part about getting a license to fly a plane. If you have any sort of mental health issue or medical issue that could work against you and make the process really long and hard. Plus if your friend played video games with cars in them all the time would you trust them to drive your car without a license? I will admit flight simulators are more accurate, but there’s still a difference between flying a plane in a rainstorm in a simulation, and flying one in real life during some sort of storm.

I definitely understand why ADD and ADHD were combined into 1 diagnosis, although it's technically 3 diagnoses now. ADHD-H (hyperactive), ADHD-I (inattentive), and ADHD-C (combined). I was diagnosed with ADHD-C a couple years ago now. I think they changed the diagnostic verbiage because people thought ADD and ADHD were opposites, when really they're very similar, and people can have both. However, if someone got diagnosed at a time when it was called ADD, I think it's their right to say they have ADD. If that's what they were diagnosed with, they might just be more comfortable or used to saying that instead of saying that they have ADHD-I or whatever.
@TwoHotTakes Жыл бұрын
So so interesting the changes they’ve made. Yeah I don’t relate to the hyperactivity component at alll which is why I still use ADD a lot of times. But going to peek at the DSM and see what the new verbiage is for sure

@@TwoHotTakes the Umbrella term we use for all of these including Autism and Aspergers is Neurodivergent. I like to say Neurospicy cause we all handle it differently so besides sharing the same symptoms, we are all our unique flavours.
@JournalNthoughts Жыл бұрын
I didn't know this. My daughter was diagnosed with ADHD, but as she's gotten older, it's less hyperactive movement, but non stop talking and inattentive. Maybe I'll bring it up to her pediatrician
@L3onking Жыл бұрын
@@JournalNthoughts Or let her speak for herself? I know you're coming from a place of concern but we are cognitive and struggle with overwhelming shame for not being Neurotypical. Finding information about ADHD and bypassing your child's autonomy to ask their pediatrician sounds incredibly condescending as if you don't have faith that your child is trying their best to function. I'd talk to them about ADHD and then both learn about it together so that your support comes from an inclusive position and encourages them to actively seek answers for how to function effectively in society. If your child is capable of having a conversation then speaking on their behalf shames them for not speaking how you want and THAT could effect how they communicate with everyone for the rest of their life. If I just misinterpreted what you meant then I'm sorry but if I read that right then your child's behaviours have a lot more to do with you than you realize.
@christinar.7955 Жыл бұрын
@@TwoHotTakes Heck yeah, if ADD is the term you're most comfortable with giving to yourself, then no one should tell you not to use it! I think a lot of people jump on the idea that when a diagnostic term gets an update, the old term is now "problematic" to say (not true, medical terminology is just always changing for so many reasons). But people don't renew their diagnosis yearly like a car registration lol, so sometimes you just want to use the first term you were given forever and that's okay!

For story one- I have been at a wedding where a bridesmaid tackled their friend that caught the bouquet. At the time everyone laughed and the photos from that moment that were sent after were hilarious. The big difference here is that the whole friend group have known each other since childhood and the whole thing was done in a comedic and lighthearted way. It wasn’t done to object marriage, or to ruin the wedding, it was very clear that it was silly and dumb. The fact that no one laughed at that guy tells me the way in which he was acting was not in a “haha lighthearted joking way” 😬
