Thanks for the tutorial. I have started using gouache and making this chart was very helpful. I only have a handful of colours so I need to mix properly.

I agree with you that color charts (or color mixing wheels) are a great activity when I am too distracted or tired to paint something more complex ❣️

I tried gouache and yes! It was way more difficult then I’d anticipated. I’m going to leave it for awhile but when I’m ready I’ll def check back with your excellent videos. I really luv the illustrative quality of gouache.

I hope this helps I was told/shown in class that there's multiple consistencies in guache from a wash aka tea consistency to coffee to milk to melted ice cream to straight from the tube consistencies. You want the consistency to be like melted ice cream or heavy cream for full coverage/matt look. Less water for coverage and more water for wash.

Lovely video! Like you I love collecting paints and have a bunch of gouache that I’m too intimidated to use… maybe also like you I struggle with judging the amount of water as I’m also used to paint using watercolours. I just got yet another kit of inexpensive gouache primaries so I’m definitely put it to test with this exercises. Thanks for sharing!

oh gosh with colour charts I always need to have the primaries in order by temperature otherwise I get very distracted
