I don't know what I'll do when you finish the AT as coffee and Taylor are part of my morning routine. Can't wait for the White Mountains and Maine. You should travel to schools when your finished as you are an inspiration to so many. Lets the kids see what you have accomplished and see your attitude of always pushing yourself to be better. Kids today need to hear that message. Be safe and enjoy.

I love seeing all the little orange lizards. When my mom was a little girl she thought they came down from the sky with the rain. 💕☔️

They actually can. Like Iguanas, they can get cold from the rain and the weather, sudden temperature drops, and then they actually fall down from the trees because they get temporarily petrified. I imagine this could happen to these too,..? She might have been right all along :)

Regarding your hunger, I'm wondering if you're eating enough fats. You mention protein often and that's not quite as satiating as fats. Plus, protein is much harder to convert into usable energy. Adding fats can also improve your mood especially if you're eating too many carbs. I don't think carbs are your issue given how much you're hiking but carb overload can certainly lower the mood. And as you mentioned, simply Hiker Hunger and not having enough calories can lower the mood. You know how to ride the waves. You'll figure it out. ☮️❤️🤝

I agree, a way to add good fat and calories is to add some olive oil to your meals. It's good in most foods, even oatmeal. 😋✌️

I just finished the Grafton Loop Trail, tough but very scenic. I started clockwise from the Stewart Preserve Parking lot. 3 days and just finished in the rain. Enough time to make it to Black Diamond Nutrition for my favorite protein smoothie. Thank you for your recommendations of the OR sunshirt and the windpants, wore these the entire hike. Perfect weight to keep of sun, bugs and twigs.

You want to do Hard things? Why not the PCH or even the Continental Divide Trail. Lots of wilderness so you gotta carry a pretty heavy pack. Bears too and 10K plus elevations. Or maybe climb Mt Whitney, Kilimanjaro, Fuji or why not try to summit Everest? You have many years to get them in is the good part so no hurry.

Not sure if you have a specific time you need to finish by, but since this is your second time, why not try focusing less on lots of miles every day and finishing fast and more on enjoying the sites, sounds, smells, and people. You find people to hike with and then lose them with your high miles. Slow down and enjoy it more!
