@@anshulbohra2096 Hindi is only spoken by like 570 million speakers while Mandarin is 929 million even if counting only native speakers, but KZbin is banned in china and even if millions of chinese still do watch youtube via VPNs, there are still more indian youtube users by far, 462 million, than any other country/ethnicity. so ya Indians are definitely still a majority

Same for most languages. Khuda hafiz, namaste (which you’ve mentioned), Sat Sri akal, and goodbye. Each of these and many examples in other languages have spiritual/religious connotations in their etymological origins.

That's why many foreigners loose their interest while learning hindi. Coz when they want to speak a different language, they want to speak only in that language. We should start normalizing using only hindi while speaking hindi and try not to insert english in it.

The hardest part for most foreigners learning North Indian languages (I’m not as well versed in Dravidian languages unfortunately) is knowing when is the appropriate moment to use the formal and colloquial register. It should not be since similar grammar is present in Europe but I’ve noticed this is a challenge for new learners.

indian languages in general aren't even popular as a language to learn for foreigners because most indians either already speak fluent english, or when they do speak their own language, they simply use so much english that they might as well just be speaking english, so its like Hinglish, Tamglish, teluglish, Punjaglish, etc

Brother the version of hindi which is available on internet is called "Urdu" Even though it was developed in in Lucknow ( a place in india) . Most people can't understand hindi too. The real hindi uses sanskrit words while the "hindi" Which is urdu uses more of farsi and bit of Arabic.

Namaskar is a more formal and respectful way of greeting soneone. Namaste is quite informal. It does not add any “respect”.

The video you are learning from has a technical mistake. It is not “fir milengay”. It is “phir milengay”. Unfortunately, in English, ph and f are used interchangeably. In Hindi it is different.

So if you learn Hindi(हिन्दी, खडी़बोली khadiboli)/Urdu(اردو)/Hindustani (हिन्दुस्तानी ہندوستانی ) , the number of people you can communicate with will be close to 1 to 0.9 Billion.
