Rambunctious steers! Field shifting always gets them excited. Mowing can stimulate regrowth on the pasture. Cows and sheep can be grazed together. They do have somewhat different tastes. Good to see you all doing well! It does look like you could use a border collie!

It makes me smile when you talk about how poor the grass is… here in SW Spain we only have green grass in winter and early spring. We have horses eating the hay which we don’t bother cutting.. they just eat it right off the ground. We also haven’t had much rain 💁 and the situation is unlikely to improve much.. when the rain finally comes the ground is so hard it just runs away, causing damaging floods usually 😏 we may need to rethink our farming methods everywhere.. great video.. love seeing you chase the lambs ❤

As always delightful to watch. The lambs sound like crying babies 👶 which they are. A beautiful sound. The bath in that fresh water looks divine, maybe a tad cold. We are in winter in SA Australia, so I'm not sure how warm your spring/ summer is. Yes, the past 3 years have been horrendous for us. I'd love to be in your location free as a bird 🐦. You are always calm and inspiring ❤. Thank you 😇.

Can’t you see they have other priorities now and can’t get to the house. If you are so worried about the house maybe you could send some money for them to hire someone to build it for them. It’s very hard to keep animals alive, plan your land rotation so you have the feed for them all summer, look after parents who need more help as they grow older, give time to a gorgeous little boy who needs your time and build a house which takes a lot of money at todays prices. After seeing all those lambs in this video I’m sure you were both very busy helping the sheep to give birth without loosing any lambs to complicated births.

We feel the sense of urgency as well. It's like the world is closing in in a way and you feel like you need to be figuring out how to stay apart from the chaos and be self-reliant so hopefully they will leave you alone with their agenda. Scary times, really. But know watching you guys gives us a sense of calm and hope. And it teaches those of us who want to be able to live that lifestyle, at least in some part. My husband and I are just hoping the prices of land come down so we can begin our journey. In the meantime, we are trying to learn all we can, beginning with gardening, herbs, preserving food long term, making medicines etc.

I make a natural bug spray by combining a base oil into a pocket size spray bottle such as coconut or apricot oil and then adding a few drops of essential oil such as peppermint, spearmint and rosemary oil to keep the mosquitos away you can also add lemongrass oil or lemon oil. You can also add a bit of water for dilution. I lightly spray clothes and avoid eyes.

My 2 cows got along well with my sheep, But the cows were not restrained by stock fencing, and would often trample it down and go out to eat in my garden or raspberry patch. I needed electric wire to contain them. We were on a much smaller place than you folks. Any thought to having a milk cow? Ours was a small Jersey, did not give much but was very rich in cream. Was plenty for the four of us.
