Murmur and Claye had nearly seven pups every litter during my Elder Iron wolf run... I don't know how the hell I managed it. I was so anxious all the time but something I decided on early was "to heck with territory, if I see food, I'm catching it" though of course this was pre-Saga. If there were Mule deer, I tried chasing them into forests or rocks to make them slow down, pronghorn I didn't bother with, if I saw hares, I ate 'em or caught them, if I saw elk and had good enough health, I hunted. Food was such a priority for me I forgot about territory almost entirely but somehow all my hunting was spread out enough that I somehow managed to keep everything marked... Which is remarkable (pun intended) considering I'm such a territory perfectionist. How I kept back my compulsive marking sprees to a minimum is a miracle. It was so stressful, it was unbelievable (especially considering my dumb self made a rule that Murmur could only play on Accurate, which was SO FRICKEN stupid but I'm not a coward and I don't break my own rules to make my life easier so I suffered in silence). If I got a minor injury, I tended to back off from hunts immediately unless the prey was nearly dead. Post-Saga I imagine my life would have been infinitely more difficult, especially keeping everyone fed if I continuously had 7 pups per litter 😂 Murmur never had any heirs but I want to imagine her pups continue to conquer the Roaring mountain to this day!

I’ve had 21 wolves in my pack, it gets hard to manage everyone. I was at a point where I had to hunt every single day. Elk carcasses were not enough. We killed a bull moose, and that wasn’t enough really. - it made dealing with threats a lot easier. I would stay back while the rest of the wolves will handle the cougars and bears making sure the pups will stay in the grass or den. Eventually, the original Alphas of that pack passed away and now it’s the surviving mate leading the pack with there pups ❤

When you had that many wolves in your pack were you playing on challenging or accurate? Did you have RNG pup deaths on or off?

@ This was when the saga was in beta, I had it on easy and sickness was turned on. I had a strategy where I would feed the sickest pup and spend the maximum amount of time I can with it and prioritize feeding it and they wouldn’t die. Probably because it was on easy? - it was still hard to manage feeding everyone. I was so glad the Devs decided to cap it at like 14 wolves. My older children just weren’t dispersing and kept rejecting wolves that were trying to court them after they updated it, they started to leave and my pack size became a normal amount of around 10 to 12 before I switched back to the public version when it released.

The max wolves I have had in a pack so far is 13. My main pack is on easy mostly so maybe I can’t have as big of a pack as some. I did bump it to challenging so we aren’t quite as strong, but my wolves are vicious 😂

a tip for getting more stamina is to drink water. it raises the stamina bar temporarily and gives a bit of food.

I hope I get a pack larger than 8 or 9. I dont want my subordinates to disperse lol Do you play on accurate or challenging with Ironwolf? and with pup RNG deaths on or off? I am playing with Ironwolf on Challenging but RNG/sickness pup deaths turned off.
