Karma is probably one of my favorite songs from AJR. It kinda hurts a bit because of how relatable it is, but man when I’m driving alone I blast the hell out of that song and scream along to every single line. There’s something about the energy plus the lyrics that’s just so reassuring and releasing about singing along to it. I love the way ARJ constantly breaks the 4th wall in their music and they always manage to write relatable songs with strange funky beats I’ve never heard in pop music before. They’re like a hyper and sarcastic version of twenty one pilots. Thank you for giving them a try!

Fun fact: in the song "bang", the narrator that goes "here we go" and "metronome" is actually the voice you hear on the NYC subway, like the guy who tells you what stop is next , apparently that guy was a fan of ajr and the band decided to put him in this song. I also appreciate that you actually talk about the things you notice and the song; lyrics, music, thoughts, everything. Because usually people in reaction videos use whatever they are reacting to for views, and don’t even give a formal reaction. You are an amazing person. Stay warm, P.T. If you are talking about the same thing, in Bang! when you hear the guy say "Here we go" and "Metronome" that is actually the voice of a guy who voiced a subway system. They were on the subway and heard the announcement and were like "We want him in a song" and luckily he just happened to be an AJR fan.

Okay I'm back after watching the rest of the video! I HIGHLY recommend for the next time you have the energy to do another album stan to do AJR's "Neotheater" (the one with them as sad puppet guys!) That was where "Karma" came from and even though that one is Ouchy - I think the emotional journey the album will take you on is something you would appreciate (and even more Feelings Hurty) Note! : As a supplemental, you might wanna listen to "Turing Out" from their album "The Click" b/c part 2 is on Neotheater and that narrative is really important to have both halves of in the right order
@samdolan13364 жыл бұрын
trust me, you don’t know the full extent of their energy (or jack’s dancing) until you see them live. 10/10 would recommend going to see them when you can :)

It's wierd how you're going through these backwards. The line in Bang "pretend you know this song everybody" makes so much sense after "I'm not famous."

I thought you might find this interesting Bill! During their Livestream concert One Spectacular Night they did a break in the show where they showed how Bang! was made, the clip is on YT now if you want to watch it in full, but at the time they struggling to come up with new ideas for their next song, you know major inspiration block, when they heard a knock at the door and from that they made the Bang! instrumental out of door knocks and a slightly altered metronome beat. The 'here we go' was actually done by the guy that does the subway announcements in their area who actually turned out to be a big fan of theirs. If you ever do a part 2 of AJR, I recommend focussing on one of two albums, The Click or Neotheatre. I'll recommend 5 for each. From The Click I'd recommend: Turning Out Three-Thirty [My fav on the album] Call My Dad Netflix Trip Overture [I know its first on the album but listen to this last!] If you go with Neotheatre: Birthday Party [My fav overall from AJR] 100 Bad Days Don't Throw Out My Legos Dear Winter Finale (Can't Wait To See What You Do Next) [Listen to this last!]

Okay so AJR are 3 brothers from New York (Adam, Jack, & Ryan) and something really cool about Bang is the voice in the background when they say here we go and metronome is actually the guy who does the voice for the New York City Subway System. I love them so much! Plus something really cool is that their singing at the inauguration!!
