Trying Yorkshire Tea Gold

I prefer normal Yorkshire but bought these to try and did originally find them to taste weaker. The secret to a good Yorkshire gold is to use less milk - that way, you'll appreciate the taste of the tea.

I feel like Yorkshire gold has a subtle earthy taste. It's not exactly weaker, it simply has more delicate aromas and the tannins aka what makes a "strong" cuppa wont overwhelm them like your usual teabag tea would. Since teabag tea is made from fannings, it is often rare to get a more delicate taste from them. Try yorkshire gold a couple more time, playing with infusion time, water temp, etc. You'll get used and even maybe get to appreciate what makes it different than other teabags teas around :-)

Yeah tannins are a menace, I prefer a tea I can brew for 4-5 minutes without that super bitter taste.

...a smooth tea where everything just blends together evenly is rare - you sound right about the Yorkshire Gold does that even thing like no other i've tasted, even the milk and sugar blends in nicely for a unique taste as well. Gotta do the 5 minute infusion time though with freshly boiled water straight out of the kettle to get that oxygenation going, can even put a plate over the cup for the 5 minutes to brew it better, then after the 5 minutes I like it with 1 ts raw sugar then 1/4 milk.

Just tried my first Yorkshire Gold cuppa and used 2 teabags, tastes nice to me and I'm fussy about tea

You know it's strange, I recently retried these myself and they didn't taste half bad, i'm fussy about tea as well, I tend to stick to regular Yorkshire but after giving Gold another try I didn't find them bad at all

I really like this tea however, you shoukd try twinings english breakfast its golden and well rounded

Thanks for the suggestion, I've got a review of Twinings Irish Breakfast on here but I never realized I hadn't done English yet, I'll get around to it, I do love Twinings, I don;t think anything will ever replace Yorkshire for me though

Oh how I still lament Yorkshire Tea. The way they told real Yorkshire men like me not to buy their tea, unless we were willing to "take the knee". what a shame it is, the virtue signalling of Yorkshire Tea. Listen up Taylors of Harogate, It's your mind that's narrow mate, But as you insist, I'll be giving you tea a miss Because I will never take the knee To drink any kind of tea
