I want to thank you guys for doing these videos. I absolutely love following along with you all on the troubleshooting, the reviews of your stops, etc. As a yachting enthusiast without a yacht, it’s cool to live vicariously through you both. I have watched EVERY video you have done and was excited for tax season to end so “we” could start traveling again. Good luck with the season and I’ll be here! Im a manager for United Airlines and I’m tempted to come hoist one with you somewhere along the coast after flying in for the day. Have fun!

You just proved my point that I have been saying for years. That there is somebody who comes on your boat over the winter and breaks things. I don't care if my boat isn't even a year old that after the winter something will not work that was working fine previously. Glad to see it was something simple this time. You should test your system where you at the dead battery to see if you have a parasitic loss. It's real easy to do you already have the voltmeter and there's hundreds of videos that can tell you exactly how to do it. Look forward to seeing your next video.

Hey guys, I've been using the DJI Osmo pocket since they were out. Be sure to be running the latest firmware... Knowing its restrictions is a must but I guess primarily you guys will be using it with plenty of natural light. I take a lot of "B Roll" type footage on mine and typically I remove the audio and am either narrating or using other audio over the top of the video. Wind noise is picked up pretty badly. I hope you got a nice big and fast memory card... that's one mistake I made thinking that a 64G one would be fine... I ended up buying a couple of 128's. I also find one of those portable battery powerbanks are pretty good to have in conjunction and also pretty inconspicuous to have in a pocket with a USB lead from it powering the Osmo if needed (I've done some really long shoots... you guys may be doing more shorter clips to edit together...). I personally keep my Osmo in the trunk of my car in a hidden compartment. I don't take my "big" (i.e. clunky and expensive but really good quality) gear out and about unless I have a planned use but I am more and more loving having this wee device available/on hand if I need something that gives much nicer results than I get on my phone. I primarily use tilt locked mode. Be careful walking and shooting with it too - it's excellent at stabilisation if you are standing still and panning around but you still get pronounced "bounce" if you walk... Anyways - you will discover all the cool wee features of the Osmo pocket yourself... I for one highly recommend it in the toolkit of devices available! Great to see you guys back out on the water!
@tryingnottosink91075 жыл бұрын
Thanks for all the tips. We have shot some footage on the Osmo but I haven't had time to do any editing yet, so I am not sure what kind of results we are getting. Lyn loves how inconspicuous it is and how she can just keep it in her purse. Thanks for watching!

Good luck. I’m glade y’all listened to me about the racors and bringing extra. My last piece of advice is make sure you call your bank and let them know you will Be travel to the Bahamas because when we mad the trip we filled up on fuel and went to pay the $4200 +/- fuel bill and my bank had put a hold on my card due to possible fraud. So if you haven’t already just notify them because it’s embarrassing for them to tell you your card isn’t working. Also I would recommend not buying fuel from any small island in the Bahamas due to the possible contaminants. If you are going to Miami first and then straight over to Bimini I would top off in Miami and then wait to fill up again until you make it to Nassau’s or another major island. If you depart Bimini around sunrise you should be able to make Nassau that day with daylight to spare. Last time we made the trip we left around May 5th and shockingly this is the off season in the Bahamas so luckily you shouldn’t be crowded and it will be easy to find good dockage. That last thing I would recommend is to grab a couple extra fuses that are for the ship to shore power the fuses are actually behind the receptacle you plug your cord into. I doubt you have a issues with them but due to some of the janky power supply some marinas offer we blew a fuse because the power supply was damaged and the Marina was to lazy to put and outta order sign on it or even let us know. After I asked the marina they said yeah we have been having issues with that power outlet we just haven’t had time to fix it our put a sign on it. Good luck and God Bless. This will be an amazing journey. I’m planning on making a run to Cuba soon if politics allow. It’s always been on my bucket list and I’m stoked for that journey

Thanks for all the advice. We are hoping to get to the Bahamas but we are having a problem. We re-registered out boat with the USCG back in February but have not received our new certificate yet. Our old one expired in April. I do not think we can go with an expired certificate. I am not sure how tough they are on things like that.

Trying Not To Sink Sorry for some reason my KZbin logged out and I didn’t see your response. I’m sure y’all are there by now and I’m sure y’all didn’t have to hard of a time with bohemian customs depending on where you claimed at. I normally stop in Bimini and do all the custom paper work there and they are normally pretty easy going. Honestly I think all they care about is getting their money. As long as you pay them and you don’t act funny or do anything crazy they are very easy going. I normally enter Bimini and dock at what used to be call the guy Harvey big game marina and then go to customs and let the get the serial numbers off my guns I have for protection and tell them how many bullets I have then I present everyone’s passport and/or United States birth certificate, then pay the fee and I’m on my way. When coming back into the U.S I let customs/coast guard I’m re entering U.S waters and U.S territory and let them know what marina I’m going to dock at. Then the U.S customs and/or coast guard will either not worry about you at all or they will come do a complete search of the vessel. But since I do it by the book and let them know when and where I’m coming in and where I will Be I have honestly never ever had customs come check my vessel when I re enter the U.S

If you bought the GH5 you will find the internal stabilization to be fantastic, and paired with a OIS lens like the 12-60 Leica you will not need to use an external stabilization system. Good choice on the camera, they are fantastic.
