I bought a machine similar to this from Temu with a collection box that came with it for 119$. Pretty handy machine with 1.5 inch capacity and it works great, just use heavy duty trash bags to collect the mulch.

I have the chipper shredder and love it!!!! I have an acre & quarter with lots of large bushes & small trees. This auger takes care of my clean up needs and leaves me with a really nice useful mulch. It has all the safety features needed for keeping human limbs safe. Just makes sure you shred the limb completely before you turn it off bcuz when you turn it back on the motor won’t kick on. It is a safety feature. You will have to unscrew the lid and remove any limb or debris. Screw it back together and bodda bing it works!!!! I am impressed with the safety!!!! And the mulch is so beautiful!!!

Beware of products like these! There is virtually no parts support. Mine just burned out, after a couple of seasons of light use. It turned out to be a good unit for grinding up acorns. I never tried to use it for branches. The only spare part listed is the belt! When I took my unit apart, it's evident that the top motor bearing failed, and overheated to the point where it melted the thermoplastic housing. This caused the motor armature to grind against the stator, and then the stator windings burned out. All that the Harbor Freight Support guy could say was that the Chinese manufcturers of the unit did not supply any spare parts. So if you really want something like this, make sure you get an extended warranty, otherwise you will be out of options when the unit fails.
@TRYtoHELPyou5 жыл бұрын
I have used this for several reasons and it still operates like new. Chews up branches for hours. It's always a good backup to get a warranty, tho. Maybe I just have luck with my harbor freight purchases.
@mihaiilie88084 жыл бұрын
If you kept it outdoor ,its possible that rain got into the top bearing,causing it to rust and fail.

I didn’t come here with the intention of ever using it for this purpose; rather to recycle 3D printed plastic waste to be able to melt it back down. I’m wondering, what size of chunks does it spit out, and is the speed adjustable? Thanks in advance and great overview!!

Someone choked it to foolproof it. Keeping hands and fingers from getting inside. Strangling it. Severely impairing its function. It works WAY better if you remove the bottle neck, then you can feed it bigger saplings, limbs and all. I made a proper longer funnel feeding chute to make it safe again but still functional.

I'm unsure, however I would go about id differently. Hack away at Vines or a pile of vines with a hedge trimmer. I just got a hedge trimmer and man, I wish I got one sooner. Cuts vines right off fences or chops then up well

Maryland? I could’ve swore you were SoCal guy. Nice review, yes self walking mowers are nice. My gas has this feature, I just walk behind it, and turn it. They make electric robot mowers that learn your yard, like a roomba I think? It has a remote also, or an app for that to control it also like an RC car. Put a FPV camera on it and be able to cut the side of the house without leaving your chair. I’ve always wanted to try one, sit on the porch in the shade and cut the grass.
@elizabethkendall51252 жыл бұрын
Great video! I went out and got one too. Unfortunately, mine died after about two hours of use. A small crooked stick got wedged sideways in the blades and tripped the motor's overwork protection. I've cleared the blades and followed all the steps in the manual to get it started again. But it won't start now. This poor thing struggled for me from the beginning. I'm using it to chew up small bits of a magnolia tree we took down. The wide leaves get jammed in there and have trouble going through. Any stick that has a kink or bend in it, it struggles. Any stick that is short instead of long, it has trouble. It does great with sticks about the thickness of your finger that are at least 18" long with no forks or bends. I'm going to take it back to Harbor Freight and see if I can swap it out for another.

I like those electric mowers. They are silent and all you hear is the pleasant sound of the grass being cut. There is even a riding mower that runs on batteries. There are at least a few not really. I would be interested to see how well they work if I had a lot less grass to mow.

That chipper shreader is ok but their gas powered one is alot nicer and easier to use if your not in california. @charleshines61555 жыл бұрын
If you are going to need the machine a lot, save up and get one worth having. A nice gas powered one will easily make all those branches disappear. There are some with a small maybe 8 HP engine that seem to work fine for most stuff you might encounter. Sometimes when I get something from Harbor Freight the quality is really disappointing. I had a set of their screw drivers and the tip twisted when I tried to use it on a really tight screw. That was one of the flat tipped ones. That was also the first and last time that screw driver ever has been used, I threw them all away. If I had to guess, the steel was not heat treated and thus soft. Then we got my sister one of those 100 PSI pancake compressors. That thing could not build pressure if the fate of the world depended on it and it has a small tank. We were trying to inflate pool toys with it and I was inflating them at least twice as fast as that anemic POS could with my mouth. That thing would probably take all day to build pressure if we had that much patience. One of the 12 volt tire inflators could probably beat that thing.
@TRYtoHELPyou5 жыл бұрын
Please keep an eye on volume of a pump for the application, not pressure. You need a high volume low pressure pump like this. RYOBI 18-Volt ONE+ Cordless High Volume Power Inflator (Tool Only) www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI-18-Volt-ONE-Cordless-High-Volume-Power-Inflator-Tool-Only-P738/300997599

Nooo. FREEKING way Dooood. Dude. It's you. Ran into that flashlight 3D printer catastra-master job you did .... and then cut loose on the unsuspecting populace. ... ...... for Free. Real nice. Some kinda samaritan on our hands here fellas. Juuuuust frekkin' GrEAT. like THATS what we were missing. -- No really this is soo cool this reminds me of this one Easter, my first one where they let me go outside in the daytime. And all the normal kids were having race to gather ups all them lil eggs and whut with me being hearing impaired below the knees I couldn't see very well ( not to mention it was daylight like I said so I pretty much could only make out large shapes like a person or a tree or small clouds too but it was soo bright to me I didn't know what to do with so much light ) but couldn't see eggs very good. So .... .. but ..... Roscoe COULD! My therapy dog was really good at it so we are back and here we go right .... my dog and me put it into third gear and start with the whooping ass in the egg racer extreme eco challenge Namibia 2014! The year it almost rained. And then when we got all the eggs that Rollo could find he was soo good of a dog and so then there was this stoopid girl that left her whole batch of eggs by the fountain when she was getting some stoopid water and so I grabbed some of them too so then me and my dog .... his name is Roland we took all of the eggs home and I wanted to cook breakfast so here we go again right ?!?! Yes ?!? Eggs Benedict for moms on my first day outside? ..... NO. The eggs were so old that they had become all weird inside. And when I asked her she said it was because I was too slow and took too long like allways ( and I didn't even tell her about Rupret helping us ) so. Yeah. Really great special day outside at the eggstreme race and Miss Namibia 2013 was there and got.a.small. poster of her and me and Ripple with my egg awards ... it's one of them decorative glass trophies,, quite sharp really. Should come with a warning. Or have a suture kit attached to the under side or behind the name plate. But ..... anyways ..... it was the worst breakfast that I never had. And it reminds me of how it felt when I realized that I had found your channel using some incredibly unconnected very Long term far reaching circuituitous pathways and smoke signal solar reflector thoughts. But I have done it all the same :: Pats cat on top of its head a bit firmly :: Ain't that so, Mr Peebles ain't. That. So. - ReeeOOooooWw. Fffcht*!* *fffhhf*! (-part of Roscoe Peebles, the half twitch mangle cat played by Roscoe Peebles, the half twitch mangle cat ) And now that we know where it hides its channel ... you won,'t be able to just dash away everytime I have a phone break and have to restart my whole you tube stuffs. So. Gonna be a lot different this time I am gonna learn me to write and to do my ciphers an I am gonna know all about any of your stoopid Chinery ( pronounced Sheen-er Ree ) . And I hope you liked this harbor freight shredder cause I got so befuddled when I realized I had found my old sensei that I started writing and didn't hear anything about the durned tool I was gonna go o buy. Rrrreal grrrreat, thanks again Hoss. Jimminy Crickets. There Is No Mercy In This DOJO!!! Ok Bye. I Go Now.

Looks like the same machine sunjoe has. Is it a 14AMP? Looks like these types of chipper/shredders work a hole lot better on green stock. That explains why so many are giving mixed reviews, their letting the stock dry out. On many of them they say that you should sharpen the blades before you start using the unit, and that the blades are two sided, so they can be flipped around when they get dull, and the blades can be sharpened many times. The only problem with this is, not once, in all the reviews that I've watched and read, has one single person mentioned how to sharpen the darn blades! SMDH

Well, I show the blades... But I have yet to sharpen them. I don't use it enough to warrant a sharpen yet.

This unit is way, way too small for a serious gardener like me. The throat (inlet) diameter has been reduced by the safety police so much you cannot feed large plants or armfulls of leaves. My chipper shredder has an inlet diameter of about ten inches, and I can shred entire wheelbarrow loads in just moments. By the way, this machine has been over-safetied so much you can forget about the face mask.

DON'T BUY. I've worked in forestry and used many different types of chippers. Though I'm not such a snob that I do understand that homeowners want something small, but this is a really terrible machine. So much so that I feel morally obliged to write in the comments of everyone of these reviews. Can't chip anything. Jams constantly. These machines will fill our landfills along with the branches they were unable to chip.

@@simpleminded5215 this is congruent with trying to chop up dead branches, for sure. If it's naturally fallen on its own, and needs to be chipped, the operator will wish for something digferent.
