The armor Profile needs a change imho. The T28 is simply better right now. I dont mind the lower plate, but make the cupola smaller or more Troll. That way you can go hull down and make it work. But right now, in its current Form, its a bit underwhelming and needs some love.

For me, who is struggling through the at7, slow turretless tds just arent flexible enough to work in blitz. The ts5 definetly fits into this category, despite having a really amazing gun.

This tank is honestly so underrated by the community, I’ve had some of my best games in this thing with 11 ace tanker badges in it, all of which were achieved with an excess of 3000-4000+ damage and between 3-5 tanks destroyed, the gun is extremely powerful and even out DPMs the Tier X heavy tank that uses the same gun and the armor can be very effective if u can hide the lfp or cause a tank to panic in a face hug as u just pen shot after shot thanks to its ridiculous penetration rates for AP and HEAT, seriously 340 mm of pen at tier 8, and that’s without running calibrated

Yep, I love this tank too. It's my most decorated tank with 22 Ace Tanker, 21 I, 165 II, and 441 III badges. You can actually bully with this tank if you surprise people with it and get right in their face, as long as they aren't high up like an EXP and can just shoot down at you. Really great with snapping off quick shots off the cuff too without having to wait for your reticle to tighten. Just quickly aim and fire. You'll get a lot of hits that way at medium distances. I've killed a lot of fast moving light tanks trying to outmaneuver me with this thing.

I acrually like the fact that wargaming is now selling balanced premiums instead of OP ones. We went feom the T54e2 and Annihilator, which are OP, to the far more balanced and unique OBJ 260, STG Guard, Ts5 and Turtle Mk1. A big improvement.

Except crates still exist to milk the tier 8s. If the tanks were guaranteed for gold it wouldn’t be so bad. I don’t mind as a free to play player :3

I agree. Just some small tweaks and you have a very good but not broken tank. Right now it’s fine but brings nothing special to the table over tanks like the T28 which have way better armor

I sometimes buy the cheapest crate and try my luck, this time I got theTS-5 right away (which rarely happens, don't buy crates), but I don't like it. At all. It is slow and the armor sucks. Even though it cost just $5, I over paid. I feel sorry for anyone who paid more. Wargaming should be ashamed of themselves. Fatness is correct, the T-28 on the tech tree is probably a better tank.

I'm a very average player and I aced the TS5 twice. Except for something like a Matilda, I don't recall an ace twice on anything else. In fact, I do best in these armoured no turret TDs, including the T95 and AT15, because you just stick near your team, find a position, and shoot. No thinking involved! I enjoy all the T28 range, including the Defender, and especially the Prototype, which got a speed increase to 28 kph and HP boost in mid 2023. My only beef with the TS5 is it needs a bit more armour. It is too easy to penetrate.

Congratulations to the first game. Shows perfectly what kind of games you can win if you have flawless decision making. Also i think the tank is... Balanced. The gun is lovely and the armor can work sometimes. I dont mind that its in crates, its a New tank, if you want it now, be prepared to pay. Otherwise i would Not recommend it for the price right now, it will come back way cheaper. But lovely Review, thanks 🙂 Edit: i have to give WG Credit for the Design, i really like the Look of the tank. Reminds me of the Yoh line somehow.

Played this tank only in Ratings and first game picked up a Mastery at 3.8K damage and 3 kills. DPM is okay, armor seems very troll, slow tank but not bad for a TD. Not recommended.

Releasing an actually balanced tank is great, putting a balanced tier 8 in crates is not. Be patient and wait for this to be sold outright for gold. Grind the t28 line if you haven’t yet in the meantime. The E3 is a great payoff at the end. Great review as usual Fatty.
