To be honest, the prerelease pictures looked far better. A mate of mine pointed out that the baking on the loco itself looks halfbaked, The matte finish looks to be eaten by the shine and the wheels looks like they were just imported from blender with no textures. Honestly, a half baked apple pie looks better

To be honest most of their models look like they're from 2013, so this doesn't surprise me. Shame really I like the GWR county class 4-4-0s.

...what exactly is wrong with it? I don't see much that would make me completely discredit it as a POS. Is the coloring wrong? Is it not shiny enough? The dimensions not right? Does it not sound right? Does it not drive well? Is it lacking all the "extra" bits from advanced scripting?

couldn't care about advanced gimmicks. It looks like a painted chocholate train, it's glossy to hell, has more faults than Apollo 13 and a whole bunch of other things that would take years to explain. TLDR; MSTS quality for a product in 2022. Even freeware looks better

@@EpicBanastard I will give it to you that the color and texturing do seem off. Like it's got a very thick layer of dust on it that needs to be cleaned off. I personally don't judge too much on the looks of a loco - I care more about how it drives and whether or not it runs well on my setup. If it performs well and does everything the manual and primary sources say it should do while not having any game-breaking bugs that take me out of the driving experience, I can personally forgive the looks to a certain extent. If you somehow did manage to make a loco as hideous as MSTS-era Scotsman or the Gölsdorf 380 and tried to charge me for it today, then I would call bull****. To me this still has pretty far to fall to hit MSTS levels of quality. If you need an example of someone who really is providing MSTS quality in the modern era *and* is charging money for it look no further than Britkits' steam locomotives. Ugly, non-prototypical cabs with obviously hand-drawn detail with the walls in a putrid shade of green, exterior modeling ported straight from MSTS, and chuffing noises ripped straight from MSTS Scotsman and they don't even have decent physics. Now *that's* someone I'd call bull on. This looks like a masterpiece compared to a Britkits steamer. I'd hate to see how you'd react to a Britkits loco after seeing how you're reacting to this loco.

Oh, Digital Traction. They used to be the tops. But they haven't progressed at all in the past 10 years; if anything they've been going backwards in quality. It's sad, really. Any chance of you elaborating on this, if only to get some catharsis out of tearing DT a new anus? Or is this really all that needs to be said? I mean, what have they been doing for the past 3-6 months since the last progress shots of this model? Because to my eyes it looks like "Giving it a couple half-assed reskins and bugger all else".
