IMO, Voddie is the Charles Spurgeon of the 21st Century. I cannot wait to see him at the G3 Conference. Hands down my favorite preacher because he is unapologetically a man of God that does not mince words. Robert Coleman in his book The Master Plan of Evangelism, last paragraph of one his chapters (paraphrase) says that we do not need any new programs but MEN that will stand up for the Word of God and preach the WHOLE counsel of God. It is as Paul said, Voddie’s hands will be innocent of the blood that will come on those that do not repent of their sins and believe.

Reading FaultLines, it gave me THE COURAGE to be true to my heart, the Gospel, and my community. I will not shy away from these conversations with people anymore because I’m not being honest. It was a amazing read, very well laid out, broke down the histories of CRT and the damage it has brought on (not that it’s not evident) CRT is unbiblical, plain and simple. Romans 8:16, Romans 14 , and Genesis 1:26 “Let us make Man in OUR image” we are all of God, and from God, and we all LOOK like God, HE is every shade, everywhere and everything!

I was first introduced to Voddie when I watched the 2006(?) "The Supremacy of Christ in a Postmodern Age" and thought to myself, "these stalwarts still exist!" I was so thankful, and have appreciated this man's dedication to truth and scripture as a clear and abiding voice in our time. His gift of seeing through the social malaise and rightly diagnosing the issues through the lens of scripture is a blessing for the entire church. I'm also partial to the "Rescuer" sermon he did some time ago. That one moves me to tears every time

Not that it's "good" to know about Barnes & Noble, but I'm grateful to know this about Barnes & Noble and Lifeway, not surprisingly, which will not be receiving any more of my business. I realized a long time ago that Barnes & Noble does not carry any "religious" books in which I would have any interest whatsoever. And thank you for mentioning Tim Keller: my former OPC lecturer in Crystal Lake, Illinois idolizes him. And not wanting to "offend" is the key word here: my former OPC lecturer would wet his diapers before he would ever dare "offend" anyone, which de facto means that he does not preach the gospel and is ashamed of it. And Tom Ascol is right on, as usual, about biblical courage and rationalizations. And a conversation worth continuing: what a concept--there was never anything but inoffensive, superficial, worldly small talk in the OPC.

We are watching the completion of all things, the rising of the Beast's system, and the falling away of many, being led astray by lawless teachings. Many on the wrong side of this so-called injustice are building their own kingdom, not God's kingdom. When one is in this position, they will do anything to save their kingdom. Some will go farther than others, but people will make bad decisions in order to save and grow their kingdom. I saw this up close when TBN took over the Holy Land Experience. The worst thing that happened with this awful event is the destroying of so many who worked there. So many are going down this same path in our denomination as-well-as so many other denominations.

I need to read Dr. Baucham's book. Perhaps this concern is answered there. As regards CRT and Social Justice, we must oppose these because the gospel is at stake. But I become concerned when our churches that are sound in doctrine become politically active so that they look like an arm of the Republican party. I'm glad the issue of relationships was brought up. I think you were speaking of relationships with others who name the Name of Christ. But what about relationships with those who are not believers yet? Their whole issue is that they are dead men walking--without Christ. To what degree do we oppose CRT and Social Justice with them?

The belief that leaders will admit a mistake publicly an turn to the correct position which is against the leading winds of political correctness, this belief is wishful thinking. Can you give me one instance of this with a notable big evangelical leader ? When has this ever happened ? A more realistic viewpoint is to admit those brothers are enemies within. While we need not doubt their salvation etc. , but we ought to work without apology to wrestle power away from them because they have failed to represent and protect the truth. We should not let friendship cloud the need for certain people to be fired and certain houses to be cleaned. The SBC refuses to clean house as an organization. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The Lord Jesus Christ called this hypocrisy. Hypocrisy is the inherent position of the fallen. Hypocrisy is the inherent functionality of the infant. When the Lord walked the earth there was only one “mature person” on earth. Humans of all stripes are broken. (The opposite of “perfect”) The remnants of satanic beliefs and functioning throughout humanity, both in the saved and unsaved is undeniable and tragic. What is sanctification anyway. I am perpetually on the fence. One side, the side you young people are on, and the other side that I am on, that of just letting it all proceed without my efforts. Evidently I’m done trying to effect change in people. It strikes me that you are preaching to the choir. I am glad, however that people like you have not given up. I’m done, but don’t y’all stop.
