I'm flying home today after going to Disneyland, and am carrying on my Savi's workshop hilt. I arranged with Disneyland to ship the blades and my Ahsoka Tano legacy hits (which are kind of heavy) home. If I have any issues I'll write again. Edit: no issues flying home with my Savi's workshop lightsaber. In fact the TSA agent looked to over, smiled, and said "cool", then handed it back to me.

I shipped the blade home, and just had the hilt with me. However, another traveller had two of the Savi's workshop lightsabers in the black carry cases with him, I'm assuming that the blades were attached, and he appeared to have no trouble either.

Pro Tip: I have been known to steal a hotel towel and roll my saber hilt up in it and bury it between the layers of my cloths.

Flew to compete at SkillCon 2019 for Lightspeed Saber League and had no issues. I put the one hilt with lithium batteries in my checked bag assuming those weren’t allowed in carry on. I did separate the blades.

Good time to upload this video, I was just thinking about this topic since I work at a Hudson News at the airport in Fresno California. And everyday I work there I have to go through TSA, and since just yesterday while I was working at the airport I saw a little kid probably around 6 wearing a Star Wars shirt, and right behind him was his dad carrying 5 of his toy lightsabers. All I could say was that kid is privileged. I might have to bring my stunt saber to work on Halloween since they let the workers dress up at the airport. Also as a tip for tsa at airports as a heads up. It all varies when it comes to rules for tsa at airports, there have been many cases and complaints that I’ve seen and heard when people follow the rules word for word for tsa on their website but when they go through tsa they get stuff confiscated or are told they can’t bring that through on a carry on or whatever, because some tsa checkpoints follow their own rules and go by whatever they feel like, like some checkpoints will allow you to bring a lightsaber replica through on a carry on, I would assume probably the LA airport because that’s where Galaxys Edge is and the tsa agents would most likely be cool about if you follow their guidelines, but probably at another airport in a different state will probably say no because they probably don’t get lightsabers through often and they go by their own rules and don’t care. It also usually depends on who works as well, most tsa people at my job are super nice, while I’ve almost gotten in fights with two workers there because they disrespected me and treated me terribly while I was following the rules but they went by their own personal rules. I’m sorry if this is a long comment and I don’t want to worry people but I would like to give a heads up and be cautious since I’d hate to see an expensive lightsaber get confiscated in some way even though they followed the rules. Also I might get a cheaper stunt ultrasaber and bring that through tsa when I go to work and see how that turns out, and reply back here when and if I do do that.

One problem I see with what you've said. If I'm not mistaken, didn't you say that if they won't let you take it on in your carry-on, then you can (at least) try to put it in your checked luggage. Problem is: once you're going through security with your carry-on, you've already checked in your luggage. So then it's too late. As far as mailing it, even if you get to the airport early, it's not easy to run around and find a box at the airport you can use for mailing. Once I was at the airport going through security with a pocketknife I had stupidly forgotten to take out of my pocket before I left home. Since I had already checked in my bag, and couldn't find any place to get a box and stamps to mail it in, I ended up just throwing the knife away. As far as mailing it, what happens if you're taking it to show a friend or relative? Then mailing it, even before you leave is not very convient.

I've flown with my sabers once (twice If you count the round trip flight). Kept my hilts in my backpack, but packed the blades in the middle of my suitcase, wrapped in bubble wrap and surrounded by clothes. Batteries were in my carryon. No issues with security, and they were easily accessible. Blades came through fine. One thing you didn't mention that might be a factor is blade length. if you need to travel, a 36 inch blade can be problematic and cumbersome. Also doesn't fit in smaller suitcases or duffel bags. I traveled with 32" and 24" inch blades as my 36" wouldn't fit in my suitcase, which is a 29" bag.

you're allowed to fly with just about anything as long as it falls within the general guidelines, if you have a lithium ion battery, your best bet is to remove any and all from the lightsaber and store them in your carryon. just get case for it with foam inserts ._.

I had two complete savi sabers flying out of Orlando via Jet Blue with classes tied together no issues also. If they as its a toy, souvenir, flash light, led tube not a "saber"

I'd just put it in my luggage and wedge it in my clothes. My friend did that with my lightsaber . But these were old style duelling sabers, they basically only had a light and used AA batteries. I say mine but it actually belongs to my friend, I made one from her spare parts. She took mine because it's a really long hilt , it can easily be used as a weapon without needing to be declared at all because it's also just a kid's toy.

I am flying internationally and I am VERY VERY scared of bringing my artsabers dark saber home. I am checking this one in since it is a metal hilt. But I am unsure if foreign country’s will deny it or take it out of my luggage when we get in. So it’s either I get my saber through or I lose it forever. Do those rules apply for international flight too? That’s my only current stressor. Since you say I can also carry it in carry on luggage is it possible that a ARTSABERS DARKSABER hilt will make it through the scan? Please PLEASE reply if u can I’m very nervous about it since it’s my only Christmas present from the US before I travel back to Brazil.

General TSA rule about lightsabers and laser swords on planes: If you run around the plane with your plastic bladed sword yelling swoosh swoosh, you will probably be tased (the real force), and restrained until the flight lands.
