No matter how hard Conquest is portrayed as a devasting and fearsome character, once I saw how he begged for his life with Thragg it was obvious that he was just a bully who enjoys inflicting pain on the opponents mentally and physically rather than fighting to push the limits. This is the reason for his downfall as well, treating Mark who has unimaginable pain tolerance as a typical opponent he has fought in the past.

I've never understood why people hold up 'no-killing rules' as some kind of noble thing in the superhero genre. Killing in self defense, or in the defense of others, is both moral and rational. Conquest has already murdered countless people. He will not listen to reason and cannot be dissuaded. Mark would also have to know that even if, somehow, he managed to take Conquest alive, it is a virtual certainty that he will escape eventually. It is only logical that the only way to prevent further death and mayhem from Carnage is to end his life.

The sad deconstruction of the No killing rule.... When your enemy is deadset in killing you and everyone you hold dear, and all available alternative options are gone, is it wrong to fight back? My dad's cousin who is a soldier said, they prefer a more diplomatic and peaceful way in solving problems but oftentimes it's not the case. In Batman's policy you should never kill even to save a million, here only in the heat of battle and when your life on the line is the option justifiable. Regardless I'm not so sure.

Y'all have a mixed up notion about this - the no killing rule is not that hard and fast. You try every other option before killing, that's how it works. It's mainly for instances where you can take the person in but instead divert to killing. He wasn't wrong for killing him since that was the only way to stop him at the time. It also doesn't mean now you're just on a killing spree - same moral compass and do your best to avoid killing. Also, batman himself will kill if absolutely necessary.
