@@Dayz671 In the first fight, Eve catches Conquest off guard and injures him as she revives, giving Mark the upper hand. Mark then bashes his skull in hard and fast enough to keep him from turning the tables. If I remember the second fight correctly, Mark outwitted Conquest by catching and suffocating him as soon as he exhaled, making it only a matter of time ‘til he died from asphyxiation. Either one may have been stronger than the other at that point, it seemed kind of vague in my memory. Conquest did seem to have a real bad habit of underestimating Mark, which pretty much got him killed twice. But yeah, Mark being conflict with stronger enemies definitely made him stronger over time, but I still think that’d align more with exercising than some sort of zenkai boost. When Mark fights against people like Conquest and Thragg, he’s pushing himself to his limit with flying and throwing punches, which puts his body through exercise. Allen’s a good example of an actual zenkai boost in Invincible: each of the two times he’s on the brink of death, he gets a MASSIVE power boost upon recovering. Like, as soon as he gets his first boost, he’s already among the top 20 strongest people in the universe. Mark’s progression in strength, on the other hand, is a lot more gradual, just like you’d see from someone keeping to a work-out regiment. Sorry for the lengthy response, my aunt passed away last week.

I cannot stand Invincible's edgelord approach to violence, but I get you. Arguably though, this fight was more about growth than spectacle. Mark wasn't the same panicked kid in a fight: this time he picked something vicious, committed to it, and just wouldn't let anything stop him. Literally went for the throat and ground a mass-murdering butcher down until he died with a whimper in the dirt, no matter what he tried to hit Mark with in return. Given where the comic *ends*, it feels almost like a nod to Mark's whole character arc.

But the determination and willpower he shows her just doesn’t hit the same as the pure seething hatred he had when he thought he lost the love of his life. This was just Invincible vs Conquest. But before it was Mark vs Conquest. I like to compare it to when Peter Parker broke into prison to fight Kingpin. That was personal and full of emotion. Not just a “duty” of a superhero.
