This is a group that during its prime time was competing against EXO and debuted as "monster rookies" with Warrior. They brought a completely new flavor to K-pop (especially boy groups, with their bad boy image and their style of rapping which BTS took some inspiration from). Despite the fact the band was widely popular and had chart topping songs and sold out concerts, they only got paid 18,000,000 korean wons, (around 16 000 dollars) over the lenght of THREE YEARS! they got entangled in court battles and consequently inactive for a long time, lost their hard earned popularity during that time, and that's all she wrote. Sad story. They were one of the most talented kpop groups ever with truly daring, badass concepts than no one has dared to do again

Before BTS, BAP were known truly as the underdogs of K-pop. Their rival group at the time was EXO, which of course was from SM Entertainment. And the fact that BAP, a group from a small entertainment company, was able to compete with EXO in awards and in popularity was truly fascinating. Due to the poor management of their company, BAP had to take a LOOONNNG hiatus (them sueing TS for mistreatment), which they eventually never got out of, and a lot of BAP fans were left in the dust, waiting for a comeback. Many BAP fans moved on to other groups; I started stanning BTS because they debuted around that time. But I still come back to BAP videos to this very day because they hold memories dear to me and bring me nostalgic joy.
