The issue of the GNU is not ideal, but what was the alternative? EFF? MK? or a minority government, it would have been chaos. But what Mashaba did is a blatant, calculated decision for no reason other than that he wanted some power. He has betrayed everyone.

Mashaba cannot accept he is a nobody. He wants to be the boss and cannot bear the fact that a white man is ahead of him, making him look stupid, for which he is. He is not suited for politics and should stick to his racist business Black Like Me. The racist remarks of "those whites" and "colonists" were regularly used by his supporters and pals in the anc, confirming their racist way of life, keeping Apartheid alive and well for them to hide behind. The ASA's actions were nothing less than a political coup.
