I was divorced with 2 kids. I was talking to a guy, but he didn't want to bond with my kids. Then, I met my husband now and he did everything for me and my kids. I would hid and just watch them to see if he would hurt my kids, but he never did. He don't mistreat them, because he know how it is to be a step kid. He didn't have a good childhood. My mom did tell me that she feels like the guy I was talking to before is a better fit for me, but I told her that this one is the one (hubby now). He never told me to have someone to watch my kids while we go out like the other one. Which I always took them everywhere I went. I'm lucky to have found him. He loves and care for me. I'm treated like a queen. Food in bed. Always helps with cleaning, cooking, waking kids up for school, while I sleep a little longer before work. Plays with the kids. Never take your partner for granted especially when they're so loyal, honest and loving.

I feel sad that your mom had mind control over you for a long time that it made you miserable and lost out on the enjoyment of life with your first husband.
