TST is my favourite spot of urban HK because I have lots of sweet childhood memories there. Christmas lightings, fireworks, science museum, space museum, ocean terminal's toyrus etc. Kowloon Park was my primary one school picnic destination!

I have one more thing to do in TST. When I was a child, I often visit the Harbor City Center next to the Star Ferry/KMB Bus Lines. There are lots of shopping/cafe inside the plaza.

Absolutely, Harbour City is a great shopping mall- the largest in HK I believe. So much to see, eat and buy in there.

Well done Sam, another masterpiece, especially the first story about Chung Hing Mansion. Giving me fond memories- this building was the first job that I was tasked as Officer-in-Charge of the RHKP Vice Squad Kowloon in 1979 (against the Narcotics, Gambling & Sex crimes) where we had success on the first night of raid, arresting a Chief Inspector of Police :) inside an illegal brothel EXERCISING the wrong sports. You also amazed me with the KOREA town in TST ? which i only knew it is solely an Indian Pakistani area. Yummy food which Sam has to do the APPROPRIATE sports thereafter ! Thank you Sam, VERY interesting and informative indeed !!!!

Thank you so much Johnson, for your incredible feedback as usual. That is an amazing story to hear firsthand from an ex vice policeman- I bet you were kept busy by the goings on at Chungking Mansions in the 70s and 80s! The Korean town here has some great food, so we will take you if you fancy some bibimbap when you return to HK. Now the video is released, it is time for me to do the APPROPRIATE sports to lose weight hehe XD

Another great video. Having just got out of quarantine and currently staying in TST it's given us a few more places to explore but even just walking around the area has been great. Move to Central at the end of the month for our long term place so if you fancy doing a top 5 of that that would help 😄. Keep it up though as we look forward to you videos

Nice and hard to pick just five. Add number six: Kowloon park, really nice and rather big. Also the outdoor swimming area here can be nice in summertime. Better of course going to the beaches, easy to reach with public bus from Central to the southern coast of HKK island or better, Cheung Chau, small island (very nice, cheap ferry ). Or Sai Wan swimming shed(!) for a more, let´s say, "exotic" experience. But then we left TST.
@HongKongHoods3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the suggestions- Kowloon Park is great isn't it- lush and green and a great place to escape the heat. It's true, there are some incredible beaches in the city- we particularly love the ones up in Sai Kung. Maybe we'll cover them in a future episode.

I left HK for USA for 30 years but do visit HK every year. I never go inside Chung Hing Mansions (it was known as a crime-ridden place) and don't even know there is a Korea town in TST. Those are mouth-watering dishes, you really know where to eat. I have subscribed your channel and definitely jot down eateries you recommend. Not sure whether you actually live in HK, either way, have a great stay there.
@HongKongHoods2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for sharing! Yes, Chunking Mansions was apparently especially notorious back in the 80s and 90s. It's certainly improved since then, and now is a great spot to find food (although some of the quieter, dingy corridors can still be a bit unsettling). I do indeed live here, and we'll be bring more videos soon. Welcome to the channel!

This video took me by surprise to see Indian food among the top 5 things in Tsim Sha Tsui. That comes from an Indian subscriber on this channel. Ha ha. Though Indian food is bit expensive compared to Japanese or other foreign food in Hong Kong, the taste is so good and made me feel at home. Nice to know much more about TST apart from Chunking mansion and avenue of the stars. Definitely need to visit the museums, eat some Korean food and take a ferry ride on my next visit to Hong Kong. Great job as always in showcasing Hong Kong. Thank you Sam and Vienne. Cheers

Thank you Satish as always for the in-depth feedback! The Indian food here is very good, but yes, as you say, not always particularly cheap. When in Hong Kong, you don't go to the so-called Korea town. Korean related stuff are out of date, and not popular at all. There are way too many places for shopping within TST. Chungking mansion is another place to avoid for obvious reasons. There are many exciting places for food from the most affordable to much more expensive choices..
